I’m in my late 50s and having had oily, acne-prone skin in my youth, I luckily did not have to worry much about wrinkles until recently. It seemed that suddenly I noticed crow’s feet and puffiness around my eyes. Plus, because I am an athlete and naturally maintain a low percentage of body fat, my eye sockets seem sunken and darker due to the loss of fat in key areas of my face. The opportunity to test SimySkin Triple Effect Eye Serum Phase 45+ ($58) came at just the right time. Per the benefits stated on the product package, I was hoping for a smoother, brighter appearance around my eye area.
I am glad the ingredients are listed online, because the print is near impossible to read on the box. I did my best to research them all, but there are so many! Some I am familiar with and actually look for in products of this type, including hyaluronic acid, plumping peptides like palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, emollient shea butter, etc. I did look up each ingredient (which was time-consuming) and was satisfied that there was nothing in the formula that I would object to, except for “parfum” (fragrance) and another form of scent, alpha-Isomethyl Ionone. I usually avoid that in products, but the scent of this product is faint, so it was not a deal breaker for me.
I used the product as directed, in the morning and evening after cleansing. I very much like the dispenser — it’s one of the few pumps I have used that doesn’t splurt out too much product or get gunked-up easily. The serum seemed to glide on and as I tapped it around my orbital area with my index finger, it absorbed quickly and easily. It immediately imparted a smoothing effect, which was much appreciated.
As the weeks went by and I used it consistently, I believe I noticed a small but significant difference in that the appearance of the fine lines seemed to lessen and an overall smoother skin texture was evident. This serum also helped take down some of the puffiness I mentioned before. See below for a before and after photo of the results. I don’t think it has helped much with my hollow-eyed appearance, but I am not sure there is a product out there that can actually fix that.
The other impressive thing about this product is that for the price, the product lasts a long time. I started using it in late November (2016) and there is still some left in the container. The amount dispensed went a long way for each application. I would say that I am pleased with this eye serum since it seems to have given me more results than products costing and promising much more. I would buy it again once my current supply runs out and highly recommend it for others with similar issues.
