Six Weeks to Perfect Holiday Skin

October 17, 2013 Reviewed by admin 1 Comment

There's such a thing as "too soon" when it comes to the holidays. Christmas decorations and holiday jingles playing in department stores is all but unnecessary in mid-October. However, knowing the holiday season is right around the corner (six weeks to Thanksgiving!) I can't say the same for prepping our faces. To achieve a younger and renewed look in time for the holiday season (or for any season), even the best regimens involve a little planning ahead. Here's our guide for looking your best just in time to carve this year's Thanksgiving turkey.

Growth factors & peptides
Most potent anti-agers can take a couple of weeks to take effect. Get a head start at repairing tougher lines and wrinkles by incorporating potent and fast-acting growth factors and peptides.

AQ Active Serum ($149 in the shop)
Medik8 Growth Factor ($160)
BRAD Biophotonic Essential Elixir Multi-peptide ($95)

Tool up
Incorporating ultrasound and LED a few times a week can help give skin a renewed and lifted appearance. Concentrate on sagging jowls and turkey neck.

Ultra Renew Plus Ultrasonic LED ($159)
Ultra Renew Sculpt ($129)

As temperatures drop, hydration is key, as dry skin can ultimately enhance the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. Swap out lighter moisturizers suitable for summer and fall, opting for slightly richer formulas that won't leave skin feeling greasy or weighed down. Alternatively, give your regular moisturizer a boost by adding a dose of hyaluronic acid on top of your moisture to draw moisture in to skin.

La Vie Celeste Extra Rich Face Cream ($75 in the shop)
Medik8 Hydr8 Day XD Youth Activating Moisturiser ($80)
Arcona Hydrating Serum ($42)
Me & the Girls Moon Anti-Aging Night Facial Moisturizer ($36)

Even-out skin and brighten up age spots with weekly glycolic treatments and a daily dose of Vitamin C (who knows, it might even help stave off those dreaded seasonal colds!)

PureCeuticals Cherry Glycolic Peel ($43)
Lather 10-Minute Brightening Mask ($28)
Medik8 C-Tetra ($70 in the shop)
YBF Advanced CE Concentrate ($50 in the shop)

Problem skin

Finally, keep problem skin at bay and reduce any last minute redness or inflammation before all those office parties, family dinners and big events.

M.A.D. Skincare Redness Rescue ($36)
Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask ($42)
Michael Todd Knu Cream ($69)
Sevani Complexion Corrector ($39 in the shop)

Thanks for reminding me. Is it really that soon. Just over summer holiday skin and time to get going again. Tan will have faded by then and I'll look grey and wintry.

Any suggestions for quick restoratives? Yukky morning face with a hangover type of look. Eyes always a problem.
