While the ingredients in this cream are targeted and quality, it did not live up to its wrinkle-relaxing promise

Contains advanced neuropeptides and no nasty ingredients

No improvement in the depth of wrinkles seen

I was selected to test and review Skin 2 Skin Care Un-Wrinkle Forehead & Crow's Feet Cream ($68). Although I do have crow's feet, they aren't particularly bothersome. I was more interested to see how this would perform on my forehead grooves and the lines in between my eyebrows. While this seems to be a carefully made product, I will start by saying that it, unfortunately, didn't do much for me.

The main wrinkle-fighting ingredients are the neuropeptides Argirline and Snap 8, both of which are present at fairly high concentrations. These work by targeting the muscle contractions responsible for expression lines and thus relaxing wrinkles, similar to Botox, they say. There is no claim that it will work as quickly or as efficiently as Botox, but studies have been done citing wrinkle reduction of up to 30 percent. The other top ingredient is Dermaxyl, another brand of the palmitoyl oligeopeptide or more commonly known as Matrixyl.

The product itself is a cream that contains shea butter, oils and a host of botanicals (many of which are organic). It is thick, odorless and white. The cream spreads easily, absorbs fairly quickly and was not irritating to my skin. I found it to be moisturizing, but it might be too heavy for oiler skin types.

Un-Wrinkle Cream comes packaged in a plastic tube with an airless pump. The delivery worked perfectly — each application was one perfectly-dispensed pump, more than enough for the area to be covered. The instructions say to use the product twice daily, only on the upper half of your face. I faithfully followed the instructions, only adding additional moisturizer after application and sunscreen during the day.

After 30 days of continuous use, I couldn't detect any difference in my wrinkles. I took a photo on day one for comparison. When I squinted, and thought, well, maybe there's some difference, I took another photo to compare. Sadly, still no difference. Granted this is not very scientific, but isn't what you see really the most important criteria in rating a skin care product?

There were lots of things to like about this cream, including its advanced active ingredients, non-irritating formula and economical, efficient packaging. Unfortunately, I didn't see any results. Maybe it takes longer to get the job done.
