Dark Circles, Sagging Skin

It may not have been invented yesterday, but copper peptides remains a breakthrough ingredient that stands out in its class because it simply works. Skin Biology CP Night Eyes ($24.95) with copper peptides was nominated by a reader for the TIA Anti-aging Olympics. It is a wrinkle reverser and dark circle defyer.

Skin Biology is the company of one Dr Pickart. He invented a specific and potent form of copper peptides many years ago and had well-documented success in treating burns and scars. I have personally used several of his copper peptide-based products and had excellent results with them all.

Because the copper peptides used by Skin Biology are strong, there are various concentrations on offer and Dr P recommends building up slowly. Typically the advice is based on customer feedback (Skin Biology's website really does have an active and vocal community). This is what he says about using Night Eyes: "Rebuilding this skin area is complicated. Use of progressively stronger remodeling systems work best. This method was developed by our clients. Most clients start with Super GHK-Copper Cream or CP Night Eyes Premier, then slowly move to CP Night Eyes Regular." Dr P is also rather fussy and on where and how to use his eye cream: under the eye and never on the eyelid. Every other day should suffice.

Another signature ingredient of Dr P is ubiquinone (CoQ10), an antioxidant, and a mix of vitamin A and E. For victims of dark circles under the eyes, he also recommends using emu oil to help build up the lipids. Actually, he seems to recommend the fat of this large, flightless bird for all sorts of things and I must admit I have become rather a fan of it myself (I even use it as a hair mask).
