Skin Nutrition Complexion Revitalizing Serum- reviewed and recommended

September 17, 2012 Reviewed by admin 3 Comments

Skin Nutrition focuses on preventative aging, age reversal and overall skin wellness using bio-active ingredients combined with a proprietary delivery technology. Thus, Skin Nutrition’s Complexion Revitalizing Serum ($70) is a unique product designed as a “rescue” treatment to give dull, lifeless or stressed-out skin an immediate complexion boost. This is accomplished via several effective ingredients that stimulate skin yet still soothe and detoxify without irritation. The serum also helps to boost collagen, while brightening and rejuvenating with highly active ingredients.

Complexion Revitalizing Serum contains Sepicalm, derived from a lipoaminoacid (sodium palmitoyl proline), combined with nymphaea alba flower extract. This soothing lightening agent simultaneously inhibits both inflammatory and basal pigmentation and is suitable for sensitive skin. There is also tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, a hybrid lipid soluble form of vitamin C, which can boost collagen levels as well as reduce melanin production. There is a proprietary cocktail of highly active berry extracts to detoxify skin, including monk’s pepper berry extract, which in vitro tests found to significantly stimulate the production of new cells.

Moreover, while the treatment can be used for a quick fix pick-me-up, it is formulated so that it can also be used daily as an anti-aging treatment. Complexion Revitalizing Serum includes ingredients such as kombuchka, produced from the fermentation of sweet black tea, which counters glycation. Premature aging is often triggered by glycation, which increases inflammation and produces free radicals causing said untimely aging. There is oat beta glucan which, as Marta pointed out, “has qualities that make it a must-have anti-aging ingredient.” Beta glucans work in an incredibly powerful way to modulate the immune system and animal studies have shown it to be antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.  The formulation also includes the amino acid L-arginine, which Columbia University called the “magic bullet” in human health as it is a powerful antioxidant that boosts collagen production.

My mind can conjure up several scenarios where one might require a “rescue” remedy for stressed skin, and I won’t list all of them, but I did test out a few for the benefit of TIA readers (it’s not the first time I’ve gone to great lengths to review a product - I’ve even taken blood tests). Interestingly, the formulation includes the antioxidant cactus pear extract, which not only reduces DNA damage but, as Marta has noted, the fruits of the cactus pear also possess the extraordinary ability to prevent hangovers.  My personal testing revealed that the more stressed out the condition of the skin; the more likely one is to see an immediate “luminous” effect from the serum.

My only quibble on this product is that I wouldn’t quite call it a “serum.”  It is actually more of a thick gel-like substance that takes a few minutes to fully absorb. Overall, Skin Nutrition’s Complexion Revitalizing Serum does brighten and enhance the overall radiance of skin for a quick complexion boost. Moreover, the superb formulation makes this product worthy of daily use as an anti-aging maintenance product.

Thank you so much for this review. I just bought this serum and I’ve only used it for 3 days but my face is literally brightened up, no more dull skin for me. I’m using this serum together with their Triple C tablets.
