A nourishing and smoothing moisturiser for combination and oily skins

The name of Snowberry’s new moisturiser, Starbright, is meant to convey the perfect glow that comes from healthy, well-balanced skin. Snowberry Starbright Moisturiser ($51) is light, but rich in natural antioxidants and perfectly suited to my combination, slightly oily skin.

Snowberry, a New Zealand based beauty company that uses natural and mostly indigenous botanical ingredients, has chosen three superfruits to dominate Starbright’s formula.

Cupuaçu (a delightful sounding fruit that is said to smell of pear and chocolate and taste of pear and banana) contains a unique anti-inflammatory called theacrine. The butter from the pressed seeds is rich and creamy, making it an excellent emollient. Cranberry, a source of vitamin C and one the most powerful antioxidants that in tests left a score of other fruits standing. Lingonberry is a Snowberry favorite, according to founder, Soraya Hendesi, with seeds that are full of omega fatty acids and fruit that has several B vitamins, as well as potassium and calcium.

There are many other good things including macadamia oil and tomato and rosemary extracts. One of the most interesting is totara, a native New Zealand tree that has skin whitening properties as well as being useful as a preservative.

All in all Snowberry Starbright Moisturiser is a lovely product that is a very good day cream, nourishing the skin and helping to even out skin tone.

Aqua (Demineralised), Theobroma grandiflorum (Cupuacu) seed Butter, Vaccinium oxycoccus (Cranberry) seed oil, Vaccinium vitis-idaea (Lingonberry) seed oil, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) flower extract, Vitus vinifera (Grape seed) oil, Hydroxystearyl Alcohol and Hydroxystearyl Glucoside, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) leaf extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) flower extract, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Carrageenan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phytic Acid, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Glycerine (Coconut), Ubiquinone, Polydecene & Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) extract, Podocarpus totara, Tocopherol (mixed) & Beta-Sitosterol & Squalene (Sunflower), Glucose & Glucose Oxidase & Lactoperoxidase, Parfum

I so want to love Snowberry products because of the company philosophy but they have previously been too heavy for my oily skin. Could this be the one for me? Would love to try!

I like products for the face that contain anti-oxidants which help reverse the signs of anti-aging. Thanks for the information on Lingonberry. I didn't realize it has so many properties like Omega Fatty Acids, Vitamins and Calcium.

I've used and loved several Snowberry products, including the Bright Defence Night Cream, Smoothing Eye Serum, and Soothing Facial Oil. I would love to try the new Radiance Face Serum. After having a big bout of reactivity to products earlier this year, I'm looking for products that can restore and maintain balance and calmness.

I would love to try this moisturizer. But maybe this is a crazy question, but I have to ask, what does the tomato extract do for ones skin?

I absolutely love every Snowberry product I own. The company and their products are thoughtful, conscious, and effective. I've never tried a copper peptide serum but feel the fine lines on my face and neck improving just thinking about it! In all seriousness, I would love the opportunity to review the new Radiance Serum by Snowberry.
