Suki Eye Lift Cellular Renewal Cream- reader reviewed and rejected
I was given the opportunity to review the Suki Eye Lift Cellular Renewal Cream ($61). My first impression was that the cream has a somewhat medicinal, slightly minty odor. While not necessarily unpleasant, it definitely won’t win any fragrance of the year awards! I don’t like any type of mint-fragranced products, so this was a definite negative for me. However, the yellowish cream has a nice texture. I didn’t find that I used a lot of the eye cream yet I noted that after 30 days, the .5-ounce jar was half empty. The other thing I noticed is that when you first pump the cream, it dispenses a hard crust. Yuck!
I was not at all that familiar with the company, so it was nice to try a new product from a company unknown to me. I read the blurb on the side of the box and it says that it boosts collagen, reduces puffiness, brightens dark circles, restores radiance, etc. A tall order and it sounded like all of the problems I am currently tackling, so I thought I would be the perfect candidate for this cream!
That being said, I found no difference in my under-eye puffiness or dark circles when using this product. Nor did I notice any radiance or lifting qualities. All I did feel is that my under-eye area felt smoother than usual. So it does have a tightening effect. Another note is that I found the scent slightly irritating to my under-eye area, and the product seemed to make me blink a lot when it was applied.
I didn’t realize this until several days into using this cream (and found it unusual), but the directions say it can be applied around the lip area. I did begin to use it for that purpose a few weeks ago but not as regularly as I had been using it for the targeted eye area, so I cannot say I’ve noticed any visible improvement around my lip area.
All in all, I would not continue to use this product. Yet, in all honesty, I cannot say that any cream I’ve used has had any noticeable or positive improvement for my under-eye area. I will continue to seek out something that can erase some of the problems.
