An eco-friendly cleanser with an uplifting, lemony scent

Thanks to this week being the worst week ever (which all started when someone stole my suitcase with all its contents), I thought it would be a good time to make changes in my life. Who knows? Maybe the theft was a sign: get rid of the old, embrace the new. Either way, I was trying to think positively.  A great result (remember, thinking positive!) was replacing some of my favorite products for brands I have never tried. I had a nice walk through Whole Foods' grooming products to discover Suki Moisture-Rich Cleansing Lotion ($26.95) for milky smooth skin.

I generally never use creams for a facial cleanser but I couldn't help myself with Suki Moisture-Rich Cleansing Lotion. It's 100% natural with some of the most potent organic ingredients. The incredible scent of lemon was overwhelming and utterly appealing, not to mention lemon oil is a strong antiseptic and prevents infections and inflammation (the fact it's used in several household cleaners is indicative of its cleansing power and practical scent). As cheesy as it sounds, the lemon helped uplift my mood (and believe me, I was feeling sour.. no pun intended). Lemon is quite detoxifying so it's promising to know its one of the active ingredients.

Sage extracts act as the astringent so you know you're getting an optimal cleanse with the face wash. All the other goodies (like lavender extract, rosemary extract, grapeseed oil, thyme) makes your face feel like it's entered the garden of eden. It feels great on the skin and still refreshing afterward. I probably wouldn't use Suki Moisture-Rich Cleansing Lotion daily (a few times a week) as it's not a hugely deep cleanse (as a natural milk-based lotion, it's more moisturizing and I prefer gels) but it's definitely something I would incorporate into my skincare regimen. It's all about trying something new.

Suki is a terrific, eco-friendly, 100% natural brand that uses no petrochemicals, no synthetic, non-comedogenic and no parabens. I am loving it! And already it's helped me through this week (it's that lemon, I tell you).

Ingredients:

Organic sage (salvia lavandulaefolia), thyme (thymus vulgaris) & rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) infusions (aqua), organic sunflower (helianthis annus) & grapeseed (vitis vineifera) oils, organic lavender (lavandula angustifolia) & rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) extracts, 100% natural beeswax (cera alba), pure vegetable glycerin (glycerine), organic fair trade cocoa butter (theobroma cacao), kaolin (kaolinite), organic oat milk (avena sativa), organic lemon oil (citrus medica limonum), organic non-gmo lecithin (lecithin), cetearyl alcohol (cetearyl alcohol), food grade xanthan (xanthan) & arabic (acacia catechu) gums, aroma (pure premium steam distilled essential oil).

So sorry that happened to you! It's so frustrating to have to leave so much important stuff to the whim of airport people and other travelers. Hopefully the week is all uphill from that point on.

I'm so sorry! I can only imagine based on how dire my own reaction would be in such circumstances- good, good luck with this new ... mission. We'll be listening, eagerly. ~jk
