Your Best Skin Care Habits

"I cleanse, treat and moisturize my skin twice a day. If I get lax in my routine, I pay the price with breakouts and dull, tired-looking skin. In addition, I've made a habit of covering up when I am in the sun." — Erika

"Through cleansing twice a day, moisturizing, using sunblock in conjunction with antioxidant serum, LED sessions 3-4 times a week with baby Quasar." — Katya

"I wash my face twice a day with a toning or salicylic acid cleanser. After cleansing, I use toner immediately, then moisturize and put on eye cream and neck cream." — Monica

"1. Using the Ultra Renew Plus Ultrasonic & LED three times a week
2. Use a gentle exfoliator 2-3 times weekly
3. Face regimen twice daily: cleanser, serum (eye area & face) and moisturizer
Last, but certainly not least: I'm eternally grateful that I found TIA some three years ago!! " — Gunilla

"Dealing with oily skin, I would have to say regular exfoliation to keep pores clear and skin cells turned over, and always using sun screen." — Mark

"Dry brushing - I pick at my pores less (hooray!) because the brushing seems to help keep them more free of debris (ick)." — Linda

"Use high-quality skincare products appropriate for your type of skin, and don't be afraid to change your products with seasonal changes. Exfoliate before applying serums, but don't over exfoliate. Never go to bed without cleansing your face and applying rejuvenating products. Keep your hands away from your face." — Annette

"I have a morning, evening, and weekly protocols that I make sure to follow. I always wash my face and never go to bed without removing my make-up. I use different products to target specific issues. However, I use my LED QuasarMD 2x a week and use my Ultra Renew Plus 2x a week. (I wish I had time for 3x!)" — Valerie

"I cleanse my face at least twice daily, and religiously apply my serums and a moisturizer with SPF." — Kimberly

"Giving myself facial massages." — Kim

"Keeping my skin clean and moisturized. Not knowingly using any products that contain unhealthy/questionable ingredients." — Francine

"Sunscreen daily, always take off make-up before bedtime." — Lynne

"Double cleansing every night (cleansing oil + facial wash), moisturizing, using sunblock daily, whether indoors or outdoors, drinking plenty of water" — Hazel

The Lifestyle Habits Essential for Healthy Skin

"Healthy skin comes from a healthy lifestyle. Eating a plant-based diet, a good night's sleep, activities that keep the heart, lungs and body in shape, and protecting your skin from the sun is the foundation of great skin." — Erika

"Working out regularly for detoxification, having a varied and nutritious diet, always hydrated, avoiding stress." — Katya

"If you smoke: Do try to quit! The difference is remarkable! Get outside, but protect your skin from the elements!" — Gunilla

"Avoiding sun exposure and healthy eating habits would have to top my list." — Mark

"Good diet, enough sleep, water, exercise, and a thoughtful skincare regime." — Linda

"Eat a healthful diet, get plenty of sleep, don't smoke, stay hydrated, and ALWAYS wear a high-quality broad spectrum sunscreen whether you go out or not." — Annette

"I actually do eat well, which includes avoiding refined sugars and carbohydrates. I do NOT eat a low fat diet. These are typically high in sugar and carbs and can result in inflammation and glycation in the body. Inflammation in the body will impact your skin. I also exercise as much as I can and go to yoga 1-2 times a week." — Valerie

"Eating fruits and veggies, getting enough sleep and exercise, and avoiding alcohol." — Nina

"I use SPF and limit sun exposure, drink plenty of water, take essential vitamins, eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, and keep a clean face." — Kimberly

"Enough sleep, drinking enough alkaline theraputic water, avoiding or minimized sugar intake, eating lots of vegetables and fruits, a good skin cleanser, hydrating moisturizer and sunscreen." — Imelda

"Drinking lots of water. Using the best products for skin care. Letting my skin breathe — no makeup — whenever possible." — Francine

"Eating organic fruits and veggies, drinking water throughout the day, exercise, smiling. :)" — Lynne

"Using sunblock daily, proper hydration, eating fruits and vegetables, daily exercise." — Hazel

Hi Norene, we have written about phytoceramides and Meaningful Beauty. If you are looking for a specific article you may find it though our search tool at the top right hand of every page. Here are a couple of URLS for the topics you mention:
Similarly, for products with argan oil, search results give some suggestions. Mad Hippie's Antioxidant Facial Oil has argan as well as other great oils:

all these products are terribly expensive for me. Do you have suggestions that work like witch hazel as a toner or argan oil after washing you face. These seem simple and far less expensive. Need your help though and appreciate that you have discussed Consumer Reports studies. No one, however, seems to be talking about phytoceramides and their effectiveness or even dangerousness nor about products like Meaningful Beauty. How about it. TY in advance, Norene
