This raw, vitamin c and fatty acid-rich oil will leave you aglow

My first impression upon receiving the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil (1.7 oz/ $46) product was, "What a pretty little purple glass bottle!" As an herbalist, keeping oils in glass is very important to me since it keeps all ingredients fresher longer.

I opened the bottle and realizing that the oil is dispensed with a roller ball, I was a bit concerned, wondering how easily and effectively the oil would be applied to my skin. As I rolled the oil onto my freshly washed (and free of any other products) face, I noticed a strong kind of musty smell of the oil which I did not like! But, after a couple of minutes, the smell was totally gone. I have never again smelled that same first-time odor.

After rolling on the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil, I felt my skin with my fingers and – since it had not covered entirely – smoothed it all over my face and neck with my fingertips. I did this for a few days until one day I used the clean backs of my hands to move the oil around, and, voila! The backs of my hands felt enriched and not dry. I always use hand lotion, even on the backs of my hands, but, I have always noticed a dry feeling on the backs of my hands. Adding the vitamin c and fatty acid-rich Maracuja Oil takes the dryness away.

Overall, I am impressed with Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil: I have noticed a younger, brighter and rosier look to my skin which is a huge plus! My skin feels moist, but not sticky or oily. Since I am in my early 60s, I am always looking for products to make my skin feel and look great. I have combination skin and still fight a bit of acne, mostly on my neck area. My skin is a bit sensitive, but typically just with harsher and/or peeling/exfoliating products when used too often. I can use Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil every day with no negative effects.

I love knowing that I am using a pure product full of vitamin c and essential fatty acids, which hydrates the skin, plumps it up and gives it a healthy glow. I also love knowing that Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil is raw and hand-pressed without the use of heat. My only disappointment with the Maracuja Oil is that I still suffer from bumpy breakouts along my jaw just below my ears.

I have been using Tarte's Maracuja Oil for about 3 years, and I love it! I use it over my regular skin care routine which consists of a serum, moisturizer then the Tarte oil, however I do occasionally mix it with argon oil. I do find sometimes I get a slight break out on my décolleté area., but seeing that I'm 50 and this has prevented wrinkles from forming, well worth it.
