Crow’s feet, or the little lines that extend from the corners of your eyes, are often the first expression lines to appear on your face. Japanese scientists recently came up with a theory on eye area wrinkles. Turns out that they are due in large part to the lack of sebaceous oil. They concluded that sebaceous gland density seems to be one of the factors that prevent wrinkles from deepening. Other factors that cause these lines are laughing, squinting and the natural loss of collagen over time. Eye creams will help, but we also need some of the other heavy guns. Here are my Five Best for treating crow’s feet.
E'shee Clinical Esthetic Alpha and Omega Gene Therapy Eye Cream
E'shee Clinical Esthetic Alpha and Omega Gene Therapy Eye Cream ($284 in the shop). Not all eye creams seem able to take on the challenge of deep crow’s feet, but E’shee’s Alpha and Omega really does. Despite the price tag, this is one of our bestsellers and there is a waitlist whenever we are out of stock. As well as lifting sagging lids, the formula takes on wrinkles. There’s a peptide called TT2 for improving elasticity, E’shee’s signature growth factor and ceramic powder, as well as hydrolized collagen to plump up skin.
Simply Venom Night Cream
Simply Venom Night Cream ($69 in the shop). With a peptide that controls expression lines by mimicking the action of snake venom, Simply Venom provides one of the essential treatments for crow’s feet. It also kicks off its formula with squalane, which has the same molecular structure as human sebum and so it helps make up for that sebaceous gland deficit. Palmitoyl tripeptide-5 stimulates a growth factor that boosts collagen.
Deciem NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate
Deciem NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate ($68 in the shop). This eye serum is water-based but has an agreeable viscosity of lightweight oil. There are several neuropeptides for softening those expression lines, including dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate and a synthetic form of cone snail venom called mu-conotoxin Cniiic. The well-rounded formula has collagen-boosters and ingredients to help firm as well as those that diminish dark circles.
Truth Vitality Lux Renew
Truth Vitality Lux Renew ($279 in the shop). Red LED light is clinically-proven to help periorbital wrinkles. The LED lightwaves target water around skin cells and encourage the production of elastin. A similar process is at work with ultrasound. Used regularly, you’ll see significant reduction on crow’s feet — shown by the before and after pictures from the clinical trials shown on the device product page.
Volante Skincare Transformative Eye Crème
Volante Skincare Transformative Eye Crème ($75 in the shop). This eye cream has collagen building Matrixyl Synth’6, as well as a plant-based complex of vitamins and antioxidants to prevent signs of aging. This is an intensely moisturizing formula that our reviewer commended for decreasing both the depth and onset of lines.
