Excellent serum for reducing breakouts on sensitive skin

Since I have sensitive skin prone to breakouts, I was anxious to try the Skin Revolution Omega Detoxifying Serum ($60), which is promoted as a way to "Give your skin the tools it needs to defend and heal itself, breaking your dependency on aggressive acne treatments." Having tested it for a month, I can definitely recommend Omega Detoxifying Serum for anyone struggling with pimples or breakouts.

The label states that the serum "brightens a dull complexion, balances oil production and heals and prevents blemishes with stimulating botanicals and nutritious vitamin rich extracts . . . increases microcirculation for greater absorption of nutrients, creating a superior treatment perfect for a wide range of skin types from oily to mature."  During several weeks of testing, I still had some minor breakouts but they were much improved, all without any irritation.  I use a retinoid product 2-3 evenings a week to reduce breakouts, but I use this serum every morning and on the non-retinoid evenings.

I did not experience any irritation, dryness, or redness, although the packaging states "Not for use on sensitive or rosacea skin types." I have sensitive skin with rosacea-like redness around my nose and chin, but this serum did not cause any problems (I actually think it reduced the redness). I used this serum as directed, by massaging a very small amount (half a pump) onto clean skin, followed by the rest of my skin care arsenal for addressing wrinkles and dry skin. It absorbs quickly into the skin without any residue whatsoever, so it works seamlessly with other products - you don't even know it's there.

I don't usually comment on packaging, but this pump dispenser had the most elegant appearance I've ever seen on a serum. And, although the serum has a typical gel-like texture, the fragrance is incredible! It smells amazing, like cloves and spices (the fragrance goes away as it's absorbed). When I researched The Skin Revolution, I was intrigued by their use of unusual, natural ingredients - I'd love to get Marta's opinion! In any case, I hope to try out something else in their line, soon. In the meantime, I recommend this and hope other readers enjoy success with this serum as well.

Cheryl, wow, these ingredients are fascinating. I've never seen so many spices in a cosmetic formula before and I would credit their antimicrobial properties for keeping your breakouts at bay. Cardamom is the second ingredient and is a powerful antioxidant as well as bringing minerals and vitamins. I'd be interested in the anti-aging effects of longer term use of this serum as there are phosphatidylcholine, CoQ10 and glutathione. Lilac stem cells are good to see and I was intrigued by many detoxifying ingredients such as banaba, a plant used in Indian medicine. I am now very curious to know more about this brand.
