TIA Olympics 2014 Day 2

Our Rating: 0 stars

Olympic athletes will be facing harsh winds with Sunday's scheduled events, which include alpine and cross-country skiing as well as figure skating and ice hockey. At the end of the day, their skin would certainly be grateful for some nourishing facial oils — one of last year's biggest anti-aging breakthroughs and today's Truth in Aging Skin Care Olympics category.

Facial oils are the deceptively simple powerhouses of skincare. Since they are undiluted by water, they do not require irritating preservatives or other chemicals. They are nutritionally intense — pure unadulterated botanical oils to which additional actives can be added to provide antioxidants, fatty acids or free radical scavengers. Far from greasy, a good oil complex is the surest way to get dewy skin.

And now, onto the awards ceremony.

Gold

Your Best Face Private Reserve Antioxidant Oil ($75 in the shop) improves skin's suppleness and speeds healing. The two antioxidant ingredients that come in potent concentrations are YBF's signature spin trap and Lipochroman-6. Added to this antioxidant-packed formula is vitamin E succinate, a specialized form of vitamin E that helps improve skin's elasticity. Read the full review.

Silver

Red Flower Kinmoxei Wild Lime Silk Oil ($48 in the shop) is formulated with over a dozen different oils that are designed to work together to stimulate blood flow, creating a healthy glow. Kinmoxei is the flower from a tree growing in southern Japan; its petals are blended with rice bran and monoi oils to enhance the moisturizing effects. Wild lime oil is an astringent that helps control the skin’s natural oils. Read the full review.
