Tickled pink by Aveda Hand Relief

I tend to wash my hands more often than the average person (which might not be saying much considering one out of three people supposedly don't wash up after using the restroom).  Personal hygiene habits aside, washing my hands so many times a day gradually takes a toll on them; by bedtime they are usually parched and uncomfortable.  One of my favorite nightly rituals is to lather up with Aveda Hand Relief 4.2 oz., which has a new look for breast cancer awareness month.

The packaging of Aveda's popular hand cream has been upgraded to a 5 oz. limited-edition tube with a pink ribbon design.  Throughout October, Aveda will donate $4 from the sale of each $20 Hand Relief to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the first and largest non-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative research on the causes of and treatment for breast cancer.

What I love most about this cream, besides its noble purpose, is its rich, non-greasy consistency and its warm, spicy fragrance - perfect for the upcoming change of seasons.  There are plenty of delicious treats packed into the formula, including fruit acids for exfoliation and licorice extract for brightening.  Glycerin and andiroba oil deliver moisture to the skin, while lactic acid from sugar beet sloughs off the damaged skin layers and smooths rough areas.  Another hydrating ingredient, meadowfoam seed oil maintains the skin's moisture barrier without a heavy feeling.  It is also a source of the natural antioxidant vitamin E, which along with vitamin A, provide the icing on the cake by protecting the skin from environmental evils.

The hands are one of the first body parts to exhibit visible signs of aging.  By keeping your hands hydrated, you increase your skin's moisture and elasticity, which we all know are the hallmarks of youthful-looking skin.  If you don't want your hands to betray your age, moisturize regularly.  And if you want to feel good while looking good, pick up a pink bottle of Aveda's Hand Relief this October.
