I never gave into the argan oil hype because it's too expensive and I thought it was just a passing fad — but then I heard and read so many good reviews about it so I became keen on trying it. Trinité Organiques came up with Trinity The Signature Serum ($45) (I'll call it Trinity Serum for short) which is made up of three ingredients: organic Moroccan argan oil, wild crafted frankincense essential oil and wild crafted myrrh oil. These key ingredients help to deeply moisturize rejuvenate, and treat dry skin and hair.
I had high expectations of this product because I know that argan oil has a lot of nutrients and is a potent anti-aging ingredient. Frankincense and myrrh have been used since ancient times for their medicinal benefits as well, so I expected this serum to deliver results!
For reference, I am 30 years old with oily/combination skin with occasional dryness due to cold weather and exposure to the elements.
I used the Trinity Serum for about four weeks, using it as a body oil after the shower, as a night-time moisturizer for the face, and as leave-in conditioner for my hair, applying it before blow-drying to prevent damage. I also use it to treat minor bruises, insect bites and wherever I feel itchy. It has a faint, woody scent that disappears quickly after applying.
I have to say that it does work! I love it as a skin treatment; the insect bites and itchiness disappear after using this product. It's also a great body moisturizer as it never feels greasy and is absorbed well by my skin. I noticed that after using this, my hands have become more plump and dewy, with fewer lines. I believe it's also good for dry, damaged hair because it nourishes so well. However, I have oily hair so it made it more greasy.
I'd definitely say this is a permanent item in my stash because it's a triple threat combo — it has the nourishing and moisturizing properties of argan oil and the combined medicinal and calming benefits of frankincense and myrrh essential oils. I highly recommend it!
