Truth In Aging Gift Guide

Can you gift anti-aging beauty products? Some of you may say absolutely not, given the risk of insulting a friend or relative, but I say these are the gifts that keep on giving. Once introduced to something that is extraordinary and really works, the receiver of your powerful present will never wander aimlessly down the drugstore aisles again. This is what happened to me many years ago when a friend in England sent me a special kit that consisted of a face cleanser, mask and serum. I was suddenly elevated from Clinique’s 3-Step System (remember that?) to serious skin care — and as you know, I have never looked back.

When you give the gift of skin and hair care, it shows the recipient that they deserve to be pampered. You are special, so here’s something to treat yourself to every day. Plus, you’ve gone out of your way to find out-of-the-box and special products tailored to their needs. Well, actually, you could say that we have done all that work for you. With cutting edge ingredients that have been combined into unique formulas by independent entrepreneurs who are really passionate about the products they make, these curated picks are sure to delight everyone on your list. Here are some of my ideas for gifts that keep on giving this season and beyond, plus some special savings just for you.

For the woman (or man) who wants the very latest:

Lux Renew and Treatment Gel Duo

Truth Vitality Lux Renew & Treatment Gel Duo (a $328 value for $262.40 in the shop)

In the Truth In Aging bubble, it’s easy to take for granted that we are on the cutting edge of the beauty industry. This is where at-home devices come in and there is none more unique than the combination of ultrasound and LED light. The Truth Vitality Lux Renew has been a labor of love for me over the past few years and paid off with independent clinical trials that demonstrated that amongst 60 participants over 12 weeks, 100% showed improvement in firmness, 79.3% showed improvement in elasticity and 88.9% showed improvement in collagen.

All too often, the accompanying gels or serums with at-home devices are no more than chemical goop. I spent a lot of time on Truth Vitality Treatment Gel to ensure that the ingredients are free of nasties and complement the effects of the Lux Renew to boost oxygen to the skin and fight free radicals with potent antioxidants. It is so nice that it can also be used on its own as a cooling mask. Gift them both and save 20 percent.

For the hair obsessed:

Truth Vitality 3-Step Hair Care System (a $123 value for $92.25 in the shop)

Most hair care products provide superficial benefits to boost volume and shine. I happen to think that hair should be treated with the same care and attention as my face.  Younger-looking hair is a worthy goal and the good news is that it is attainable. I developed the Truth Vitality True Volume Collection to boost healthy hair growth over time, give instant volume and hair that is soft and manageable. It does all this with natural ingredients and no harsh surfactants.

All three products in the collection feature copper peptides for healthy hair growth and reduced shedding. The Advanced Complex has an additional peptide and red clover extract to increase follicle strength. And the shampoo and conditioner are so full of good things that they should be considered to be treatments in their own right.

For the peptide-file — or someone who needs to become one:

Your Best Face Day & Night Trio

Your Best Face Day & Night Trio (a $340 value for $255 in the shop)

Peptides are proteins that signal cells to go and do something useful, such as produce collagen. They are one of the most important breakthroughs in skin care and there are new ones being designed that will help with specific cellular communication to reduce wrinkles and firm sagging skin. Your Best Face is always ahead of the curve with the latest peptides to repair existing signs of aging and prevent future photodamage. Some of YBF’s newest combinations are in Defend and Restore. In this indispensible trio, they are joined by Private Reserve Slumber Blend. This is your 24/7 regimen for truly radiant skin.

For the purist:

Sevani Get Glowing Gift Set

Sevani Botanica Get Glowing Gift Set (a $153 value for $122.40 in the shop)

Many of us are extending our aspirations for healthy, clean living to our skin care. You know that at Truth In Aging we have scoured every ingredient, so I can confidently say even a diehard purist will be convinced by the Sevani Botanica line. Because the products have lovely ingredients that work to create great-looking, healthy skin, they are good way to convert someone who isn’t yet choosing the very best that nature can offer. Sevani formulates with the most powerful natural anti-aging ingredients, keeping the sensitive in mind. This Sevani trio has been chosen to give new life to aging, dehydrated and lackluster skin with the superb AHA Cleanser, the divine Rose Hyaluronic Tonique — its rose scent is transporting — and the Advanced Omega Serum.

For a 30-something who is new to skin care:

 Marta's 30-Something Starter Kit

30-Somethings Starter Kit

Now this really would be the gift that keeps giving. Imagine giving the 30-somethings in your life a good start on the road to beautiful skin. If they don’t drop to their knees in gratitude now, trust me, you’ll be at the top of their holiday card list in 10-years time. This Collection is for the (intelligent) skin care novice.  A moisturizer with SPF is a great way to get the across the message about daily sunscreen protection, and Sonäge has a non-chalky mineral sunscreen formula with nourishing jojoba seed, sweet almond, avocado and hazelnut seed oils, soothing aloe and vitamin C. Because a good cleanser is the foundation of skincare, this Collection includes Dawn Lorraine Fresh Citrus Cleansing Gel. And yes, you are never too young to invest in a damn good eye cream, such Youva Bright Eyes, which is packed with antioxidants and skin-brightening ingredients.

For sensitive types:

La Vie Celeste Kit

La Vie Celeste Sensitive Skin Rescue (a $185 value for $148 in the shop)

As any esthetician will tell you, there’s no such thing as sensitive skin; people who identify as such are really just using the wrong products. Well, here is a collection that will coax even the most nervous. The packaging is pretty, the ingredients enticing and the formulas are gentle, non-comedogenic and effective. This is anti-aging inside a velvet glove. The moisturizer is whipped confection for both day and night while the silky eye cream brightens and soothes. The mask is a long-time favorite that is refreshing to use and doesn’t dry into a cracked cake of mud

For the parsimonious:

Affordable All-Stars

Affordable All-Stars

For those that watch their pocketbooks, these anti-aging products have been chosen because they punch above their price. Mad Hippie’s moisturizing facial oil combines pure argan, sea buckthorn berry, pomegrante and sunflower seed. ASDM Beverly Hills Oxygen Plus Serum facilitates cellular metabolism by the transfer of oxygen into the epidermis for healthier skin, increased radiance and a clearer complexion. Finally, Deciem’s Hylamide range is leading edge and well-priced. My favorite, Glow Radiance Booster, is a fast-acting serum that works to add radiance to dull, lackluster skin.
