Eyelashes & Brows

The penultimate day of the Olympics inspired lash batters and brow beaters. Not sure why exactly. But, heck, these little helpers are crucial weapons in our anti-aging arsenal. As we get older, lashes get sparser and eyebrows patchy and moth-eaten and need all the help they can get. The Gold Medal goes to ReLuma Lash, with CODE:ai taking the Silver and the Bronze going to Chella Brow Full-Fillment.

ReLuma Lash ($95). ReLuma Lash takes about six weeks before significant lash growth is seen. But patience is rewarded by new lashes as well as longer, darker existing ones. It can also be used with success on eyebrows. Keep it up for a few months and, hopefully, you will see (as I do) lashes that are the kind you’ve hankered after. It can also be used on eyebrows for filling in gaps and helping the hairs look darker and stronger. Prostaglandin free and safe, ReLuma Lash’s actives are growth proteins from stem cells. ReLuma Lash gets a boost with keratin and panthenol and lashes are conditioned by moisture-attracting gluconolactone. Read the review

CODE:ai Lash Extend Serum ($115). CODE:ai Lash Extend Serum works and it does not include the potentially harmful active prostaglandin, which you’ll find in some eyelash growth products. The big guns in the formula are myristoyl pentapeptide-16 and 17. The Lash Extend Serum has this peptide at a 30% concentration. I got results after about three weeks - longer lashes. It also works on the eyebrows as well. After six weeks, the results are more impressive and I am happily continuing to use this product and like the results more and more - the hairs are not just longer, but also more flexible and healthier looking. Chella Brow Full-Fillment ($90). Devised with Hollywood brow beater, DeeDee Marcelli (who counts Paris Hilton and Celine Dion amongst her clients), the Chella Brow Full-Fillment Conditioning Treatment is aimed at those sparse of brow. A key active is a peptide, Biotinoyl tripeptide. This is made by the same company as Matrixyl 3000 and it helps to slow aging effects by lessening the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to improve the irrigation of the hair follicle. This brow growth product has plenty of additional ingredients that are also associated with hair growth, such as saw palmetto, amino acids, various algae and a couple of members of the vitamin B family. Hi Marta~
Thanks so much for revisiting lash "best of" recommends. I would love your thoughts as to how ReLuma Lash and Hydropeptide Lash (a previous good review receiver) compare.

In addition to a general comparison of the two products, have you noted if one tends toward emphasizing curl more than the other?
Are they both safe for contact wearers/sensitive eyes?

    Many thanks!
