I was excited to try the Truth Vitality Brow Empower ($39 in the shop) as I am in my late 40s and have no eyebrows left. I don't know whether it is age or a side effect from certain medications I’ve taken in the past. I did some research as to the ingredients in the Brow Empower as I was not familiar with some of them: triethanolamine, an organic compound that serves as a pH balancer in many cosmetic products, panthenol, which is an emollient and tocopheryl acetate, which is a common vitamin E supplement, to name a few.
Leuconostoc* (which is the same bacteria used in kimchi) is responsible for fermentation. I found this to be the only ingredient for concern, but I trust Truth in Aging, so I incorporated it into my daily routine.
I tried the Truth Vitality Brow Empower for six weeks with absolutely no results. This was very disappointing for me. Though I didn't have any positive results, the Brow Empower has a pleasant smell and is easy to apply. I'm sorry to say that for me, this product was not in any way productive. I'm hoping to read some positive reviews for the Brow Empower so I will know that it was just my experience and not a bad product from Truth in Aging.
*Editor's Note: Leuconostoc or radish root ferment filtrate is used as a preservative at 05%-2% concentrations to protect against a whole range of tiny nasties from e.coli to a.niger and it is recommended that it can be used as the sole preservative in a cosmetic. Read more about Leuconostoc here.
