A serum that visibly improves skin radiance and reduces signs of aging

Pros

Visibly buffs the skin, reduces redness and fades lines,

Cons

Not for purists

The latest serum to impress me so much that it almost immediately became part of my regimen (rather than just another product I had to be diligent about testing) is Volante Intensive Repairing Serum ($105 in the shop). This has had a marked impact on lines and my skin’s texture, make up goes on beautifully and my habitual redness is reduced.

Before, I started to notice these effects, I was struck by how smoothly the serum was applied and how comfortable it felt on my skin. My first thought was “this is well made”. When I recently chatted with Volante’s founder, Elizabeth Vanderveer, she told me that ntensive Repairing Serum was the first product that she made and that she’d invested a huge amount of time into getting it right. I could tell.

I’ll be the first to admit that this serum isn’t formulated for purists and, although I wouldn’t put myself in that category, I balked at the PEGs and silicones. Nevertheless, I was intrigued by the concentrated – 13% - dose of Volante’s signature complex, 7 Vitae. This is comprised of seven ingredients, chosen to combat inflammation: aloe vera, arnica montana, bromelain, calendula, daisy flower, grape seed, and zinc. Each of these ingredients was chosen by Elizabeth to reduce inflammation and have an active anti-aging effect without causing irritation. For example, daisy flower suppresses melanin without the toxicity issues of hydroquinone.I attribute this concoction to making my cheeks less vividly rosy.

The Matrixyl family of peptides seem to consistently deliver and Volante uses Matrixyl Synthe’6, which synthesizes collagen in six different ways. Two other important ingredients are exfoliating willow bark and bromelain and they are responsible for the serum’s resurfacing abilities – my skin looks clearer and smoother. Two useful minerals are magnesium aspartate and copper gluconate.

All of these actives ensure that the good outweighs the bad. While I can’t recommend Volante’s serum to those who prefer all natural products, I can heartily endorse it for those that want to erase wrinkles and reduce inflammation.

I have been using it too for exactly 1 month - along with the cleanser, day creme and night creme. It's amazing. My skin looks and feels HAPPY and youthful from the time I wake up until bedtime. I can't say enough about it. Sometimes less is more. Keep it simple.
