Youngblood Mineral Radiance-reviewed and recommended

January 18, 2012 Reviewed by admin 0 Comments
Now that we are in the midst of winter, I have basically morphed into the Punjabi edition of Casper the Friendly Ghost. Okay, so maybe I am not a blinding shade of pale, but since I’ve been hibernating indoors, my skin has lost its life and that natural radiance I have during the summer.

Since I had much success with the Youngblood Eye Liner Pencil, I decided to try another product off their line - the Mineral Radiance powder. While I’m a big fan of blush, I often shy away from bronzer as the ones I’ve tried make me look nothing short of unnaturally tan and inappropriately sparkly.

With a light stroke along the hollows of my cheeks, the corner of my temples, and a light brush down my nose, my face is glowing in a natural way. Do take note this bronzing effect is in not overbearing nor similar to an Oompa Loompa’s complexion in any way. The bronzer surprisingly went on more matte than others I’ve tried in the past. While the pigment is rich, the bronzer does not have a glittery affect, which I think makes this compact suitable for day or night and for all age groups.

Youngblood Mineral Radiance is available in four shades. I started with Riviera, which was ever-so-slightly dramatic for my medium-olive complexion. Very little went a long way. This was great in terms of lasting power but annoying as I had to be extra careful not to overdo it. I remedied this by using a soft, full kabuki-like brush, which left me with the lightest finish.

The Youngblood Mineral Radiance bronzer has also been very gentle and lightweight on my skin. There isn’t much to worry about in its ingredients, despite the inclusion of low-hazard lubricant, zinc stearate and a “may contain titanium dioxide” disclaimer. Otherwise you’ll find conditioning emollients powered by natural mica and various floral extracts.

Despite the superrich pigment - requiring a new bronzer brush and some practice to apply - I have practically no other qualms with Mineral Radiance and definitely see it lasting me well into the summer months.
