I have been using Your Best Face Rooibos Matcha & EGCG Infusion Mask ($68) for 30 days. I am in my late 40s and have combination skin, leaning towards the oily side.  I read that the mask is part of a "pampering" and "maintenance" skin care routine, and to be used in the evenings.  I used this mask two to three times a week in the evenings, while winding down before bedtime.

I will say that the ingredients list is beneficial and seems to be on par with other YBF products. I have read a bit about matcha, a green tea boosted with antioxidant-rich vitamins and minerals, and I like the idea of matcha being used for skincare.  Matcha can improve inflamed skin (which I do not suffer from), is good for exfoliation and protects the skin from free radical damage.  It's my understanding that matcha is a great treatment for people with oilier skin due to its purification, detoxing, and antibacterial benfits. Matcha is also known to rejuvenate skin that lacks oxygen, as a result of sleepless nights and toxicities in the air.

Because my skin tends to get oily throughout the day and I do not always get my eight hours of slumber, I was excited to try this mask. While I did find it to be relaxing, I am not "wow-ed" by it.

I typically use masks to do some "work" on my skin. I enjoy tightening masks, and ones that give my skin a work-out (Eminence Lime Stimulating Masque is one of my favorites). The YBF mask is very gentle and nourishing. While I enjoyed using the mask - I love the color of it and found it soothing to put on - I feel it is not worth the price. It just didn't feel like it was doing enough for my skin type.  I will honestly say that I saw no difference in my skin tone or texture during the past month.  I did end up using it as a calming mask after a skin peel.  Overall, I feel the mask is a bit pricey for a calming and nourishing mask.

    Hi Sheila!
Thank you for giving my rooibos mask a try.
I'm sorry to read that -- pun intended -- the mask was not your cup of tea.

The quality of ingredients, their concentration in the formula and even the quality of packaging and large size of the mask make it, I believe, a it an extremely good value that's priced right compared to other brands in which the product competes.

An important point of clarity though, there is no green tea in this mask. Matcha refers to ground tea, but there are many types of matcha out there (green tea matcha being most widely known).

The type of matcha tea in this particular mask is a red tea called rooibos, which is caffeine-free and delivers an entirely different set of antioxidants than what's found in green tea.

I appreciate that you typically enjoy tightening masks, this is however indeed not a tightening mask nor was that its purpose. Tightening masks can be great -- and there are many good options to be found by other brands. This mask was not intended to provide that kind of experience.

My infusion series masks (this rooibos matcha mask included) was created specifically for those who do not want a mask that dries taught, pulls on skin and can be difficult to remove. As such, I formulated it to be rich, non-drying and easy to remove and easy to layer the mask with other facial serums during use.

All my best and thank you for the opportunity to share the mask with you!
