This product review has been tough because it's been SO humid and muggy for the month of September. Literally today (October 1st) is the first day we've had a break from the nearly fifteen inches of rain we've had here in Baltimore...

The Zinn Velvet Facial Cleansing Milk has been too heavy, too goopy to use in a month of muggy weather. It's much better suited to drier climates. Even though I generally have dry skin at 55, this has been too much; it leaves my skin feeling coated with oil, so my skin needs washing off afterward, which seems silly and like double work for a desired result of clean but not dried out.

So, now that the weather has broken (we think), I think I can give this a fair trial.  It has a lovely (if heavy) consistency, and should be a pleasure to use - so I will let you know.

I didn’t think I could give this product a fair shake while we were experiencing warm weather.  But now that it’s colder, I like the Velvet Cleansing Milk much more in this drier weather and it's an elegant cleanser, no question – and NO horrific scent – in fact, it has a fairly invisible one, which is great. This cleanser takes makeup off (I don't wear much of anything – Bobbi Brown's Extra Tinted Moisturizer and a bit of mascara, that's it) but a Kleenex is needed, then I have to rinse it off and I still am not happy with how greasy it feels. Even though I have really dry skin, it seems excessively oily to me and as though it might end up giving me milia. It has the same consistency as products that have given me milia…

Generally, I think it's lovely but would I go out and buy it?  Probably not - not at this stage. M favorite still is the Tata Harper Cleanser for dry skin, by far.

All this being said, there's lots left, so I'll continue to use it now that the weather has changed, and who knows – I may change my mind – and certainly will let you know.
