Skinveda Ashwamilla Toner

Size: 3.4oz

Skinveda Ashwamilla Toner tones the skin and helps tighten pores; the mineral complex helps activate the ATP cycle and boosts circulation while combatting free radicals. It also helps reduce water loss from the skin. A go-to product that can be sprayed anytime of the day for instant hydration. Chamomile flower water has a calming effect, while ashwagandha root extract is an adaptogen and can help balance excessive kapha and kapha-pitta; aloe vera leaf and coconut fruit juice have a tonic and hydrating effect. Like all products in the Truth In Aging store it has been tested by our community so you can trust that it works.

The key benefit of a good toner is the balancing of the skin. A toner balances the skin’s pH and oil to dryness ratio, while clearing pores. Since Ayurvedic medicine is all about balance, it seems to me that a toner formulated according to Ayurvedic principles makes perfect sense. Skinveda’s Ashwamilla Toner ($32 in the shop) more than met my expectations.

This toner is for oily combination skin and, in Ayurvedic terms, helps balance excessive pita-kapha and kapha dosha. While helping to control oiliness, it also prevents water-loss from the skin. This most certainly is not a drying toner. For me, it has become a go-to essential. This may be because I seem to profile in Ayurvedic terms as a kapha type and this toner does seem to be very compatible with my skin. But I also love that it takes a sophisticated approach to anti-aging.

When I first looked at the ingredients in Ashwamilla Toner, I was drawn to the magnesium, zinc and copper – rarely seen in a humble toner. This mineral complex helps activate the ATP cycle and boosts circulation while combatting free radicals. ATP is adenosine triphosphate, the main energy source for the majority of cellular and muscular functions. This includes the synthesis of DNA. Living things use ATP like a battery – storing and using energy when needed. We metabolize ATP as an energy source and then convert it back again so it is continuously recycled. Hence this toner’s mineral complex’s ability to give that cycle is a very useful thing.

A key ingredient is ashwagandha (or Indian ginseng), an adaptogen (something that helps the body adapt to stress and normalize bodily processes) that also has strong antioxidant properties. This is the ingredient that helps balance excessive kapha and kapha-pitta.

I love this toner with its light herby scent. Over time, it has a pore tightening effect and it leaves my skin looking both matte and hydrated. In other words, perfectly balanced.
