Transderma A

Size 1oz/30ml

Transderma A is all about the actives: retinyl palmitate and vitamin E. Formulated for superior absorption, it helps stimulate skin cell renewal and exfoliation while maintaining the integrity of the skin. Reduces appearance of lines, wrinkles, and scars. Like all product in the Truth In Aging store, Transderma A is tested by members of the community so you know that it works.

When Transderma formulates, the entire focus is on the active ingredients. Transderma A ($175 in the shop) is no exception. This night time retinol serum has retinyl palmitate and vitamin E, a base of squalane and a solvent/penetration enhancer. That’s it.

Transderma is a Scandinavian company with a chemist co-founder whose unorthodox approach results in a unique skincare line that is not water based. This is huge. Most skincare products are over 80% water. And water is prone to bacteria, hence the need for preservatives. There are no preservatives in Transderma.

Transderma A is a retinol serum that is designed to be used at night. It is a colorless serum that is very light and easily absorbed. I thought I detected a slight citrus scent at first, but it dissipates quickly. Although my skin slightly tingled on initial application, I did not experience any irritation or redness.

I have been targeting Transderma A on the vertical lines above and below my lips, using this retinol serum at night and Airelle’s Age Defying Eye + Lip Treatment ($68 in the shop) in the morning. After a month, I have seen those pesky lines fade somewhat, certainly enough for me to continue to use both products beyond my test period. That’s the litmus test for me: keepers.

Transderma A’s deceptively simple formula has a penetration enhancer to ensure the vitamin A is delivered to the deeper, active layers of the skin where it can benefit skin most. The addition of vitamin E protects the vitamin A against oxidation during application and also acts an antioxidant for the skin itself. Vitamin A exfoliates the skin by speeding up the shedding of dead skin cells to encourage collagen production.

I would recommend Transderma A without hesitation for anyone looking for a retinol serum with a clean formula.

When I started using this retinol serum I didn't have a regimen at all. Just used bar soap and lotion. I like the texture and that it was a bit heavy. My skin is very dry and this kept my skin hydrated through sleep. Two weeks in I saw and felt a difference. My face felt smoother, dry areas diminished and not as stretched too tight feeling. My lips really felt and looked better, less visible lines and moisturized. Through these last weeks, the tone and texture are a definite improvement.
Another quality I appreciate about the Transderma A Serum is that it is gentle. Literally zero harsh chemicals, very simple but powerful ingredients. It has made me feel a little better about myself and that's worth so much to me.

My 30 day trial of Transderma A was a winner. . I was keen to try this product as my pesky lip lines were not responding to gentle alternatives. I did not experience any redness or irritation after my night time application of Transderma A. My skin got tight in the first five days but nothing beyond that. After five days, my skin started transforming into tighter, smoother skin. After thirty days, the lip lines are reduced enough to prompt me to purchase a bottle of Transderma A.
