Your Best Face Brightening Concentrate

Size: 1 oz (30 ml)

Your Best Face Brightening Concentrate is formulated to gently yet effectively improve the tone and texture of skin. It uses a new form of kojic acid called kojic dipalmitate that is highly stable and mild. Suitable for all skin types, the silky cream can be applied morning and night to treat dark spots, melasma and dullness. After testing it for 30 days, Marta, the founder of Truth In Aging, was impressed with its superb ability to fade dark spots.

Kojic dipalmitate has been shown to be easily absorbed by the skin and more efficacious than kojic acid in inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase present, so as to inhibit the melanin formation. It provides excellent effects in fading age spots, pregnancy marks, freckles as well as general pigmentation disorders. The advanced formula is light and heat stable, compatible with other products, fragrance-free and contains no nasty ingredients. You’ll love how it absorbs and wears on the skin while moisturizing and improving tone and resilience.

Review by Marta:

I have a leopard spot below my outer right eye that has been there most of my adult life. Periodically I make half-hearted attempts to fade it, don’t see much progress and get disheartened and move on. This would be more than a challenge for Your Best Face’s newest potion, Brightening Concentrate ($32 in the shop).

At this time of year with the extra sun exposure, it tends to get a little darker, but it has actually faded with the use of Brightening Concentrate. It hasn’t disappeared — it never will unless I submit to laser — but it has notably lightened. Lower down on the same cheek there are a couple of smaller and lighter areas of hyperpigmentation and they are almost gone, too. I am really most impressed.

Brightening Concentrate is a deceptively simple formula with kojic acid and that’s about it. However, this is not your mother’s kojic acid and here’s why: Kojic acid is a reliable brightener and fader of hyperpigmentation, but notoriously unstable. Like those forms of vitamin C from days gone by, it degrades and discolors in contact with light. There is now a new stable form called kojic dipalmitate, which is the key to Brightening Concentrate. It is an oil soluble form that does not degrade with heat, light, air or contact with metals. What’s more, kojic dipalmitate is said to be more efficacious than kojic acid in inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase and melanin formation.

This would explain why I have found this product to be so effective. And it really is gentle, plays nice with other products and is a breeze to use. YBF’s founder and chief formulator told me that he went out of his way to make sure it could be easily layered with the rest of regimen (again, unlike the old kojic acid, this form is compatible with almost all cosmetic formulas, including sunscreen).

The price, ease of use and, of course, the fact that it actually works make it one of the skin care no-brainers of 2017. It is going to be a permanent fixture for me. I’ll report back if I can keep that leopard spot fading throughout the summer.
