TIA Review by Marta:
When I read the ingredients list on the back of the bottle of Mukti Botanical Shampoo, I did a double take. There was no way that this was the full list. Same with with Mukti Botanical Conditioner. It turns out that they are formulated without water. So, when the ingredients list starts with Certified Organic Aqueous Extracts of Bladderwrack, it really does mean that there isn't a water base, a bunch of silicones and hidden chemicals. Mukti is the real deal.
This is by far my favorite shampoo. It foams up a treat (due to cocobetaine) and leaves my hair feeling clean and soft. I have also noticed that my hair sheds less. Excellent!
The botanicals (aqueous extracts are made by placing the powdered plant in either cold or hot water and then putting it through some process to partially evaporate) include many that are known to help healthy hair growth. Bladderwrack is a seaweed that has a high amount of vitamin C and something called alginic acid, which is insoluble in water and swells by absorbing water up to 100 times its weight. It is also a very good source of vitamin B12, a lack of which can result in hair shedding and dullness. Ginkgo is also associated with hair growth, as well as being a potent antioxidant and horsetail is a great natural source of silica.
Also worth a shout-out is red clover. Research from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) confirms that red clover extract contains four anti-tumor compounds and it also contains the powerful antioxidant tocopherol, which is a form of vitamin E.
Mukti is a welcome addition to my hair care.

After noticing a lot more hair than I would like to admit clogging up my drain I decided to research shampoos. I had used WEN with some degree of success in the past but the cost per bottle combined with the amount you need each use seemed exorbitant. Additionally, I find the questionable variations in the ingredients based on where you order it (infomercial, sephora, qvc etc.) concerning and confusing. There is this distinctive undeniable lift and bounce you get from WEN, however I can’t help but admit that after a while I found my hair breaking off a lot more than usual. As a result I set out to find a suitable sulfate free shampoo that would stop some of that breakage and shedding. After reading the Mukti reviews and impressive ingredient list I decided to make the investment.
I’ve been using this shampoo for several months now a little truly does go a long way here. I have long hair and I still have about a ¼ of a bottle left. It could be the change of seasons but I have definitely noticed less shedding. You also don’t need much to get a great cleansing lather that doesn’t dry or strip. The smell is a lovely earthy herbal lavender mix. I find it especially good for color treated hair as I noticed I don’t need to color as often, nor do I need to wash everyday. My hair just seems more balanced. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great basic shampoo that maintains color while cleaning well.

I have tried many natural shampoos with varying degrees of success. Whilst I have loved the fact that the natural shampoos don't have harmful ingredients in them, my hair has never really looked great when using them.
Mukti is the best yet that i have tried. The main problem I have had with other natural shampoos is that my hair has tended to look flat, straw like at the ends and very tangled.
It is still quite tangled after washing, but I notice that my hair is shinier and bouncier after using the Mukti shampoo and hasn't got as oily at the roots. The volume is better too.
It is a bit pricier than I have paid in the past for shampoos ( almost twice as much) but I don't have to use as much so I think it will end up costing the same in the long run as my old shampoos.
Overall I am very happy that I purchased this product and will give the conditioner a go.

Hands down the best shampoo I have used. Like Satajnuic, I've tried Yarok, Shielo, Nutra-lift and other organic brands. I came across it in an online australian organic store and was reluctant to spend over $60+ for the shampoo and conditioner. But, for my thick hair and oily scalp the shampoo is a good balance of cleansing without being too harsh. It's also ridiculously easy to work into the scalp (it's formulated without water).
For my oily scalp I find I need to do a second wash using only a little and focusing on the scalp or my hair becomes too stripped and brittle. Not perfect, but definitely beats the other popular brands here on TIA.

Thank you Satajnuic - and don't apologize for the length of your helpful review. And I couldn't agree with you more! At last, one of Australia's best kept secrets is available here and I am going to be working my way through the rest of the range. If you use anything else by Mukti that you recommend we try, please let us know.

Having tried the Osmotics, Nutra-Lift, Shielo and Yarok brands of shampoo and conditioner since discovering Marta and her wonderful TIA community I think I'm qualified to have an opinion in this category! And the winner, by a country mile (in our household at least), is Mukti (fanfare)!
Both my husband and I are nearing 50 and suffer frequent hair crises as we each had fantastic hair up until our early 40s. Mukti has helped us to face the shower with an increasingly sanguine disposition over the past few weeks as we have experienced a dramatic reduction in shedding since making the change.
I have mid-length hair and previously could have balled the shedded hair into a lump the size of a large olive - at which point I often had a cry and thanked my lucky stars that I only need to wash my hair every 5-6 days. That ball is now only the size of a small pea - which is pretty insignificant given the length of my hair.
I have never really asked a lot from a shampoo, instead I concentrate all of my expectations on the conditioner. And this is where I think Mukti really outshines everything else I've tried. I have very dry colour treated hair that tends to resemble a haystack when I step out of the shower. But I now massage through a generous tablespoon of Mukti conditioner, leave it in for a few moments and voila! The tangles feel as though they've disappeared by magic - without any combing on my part. I only comb it when I'm ready to dry it and even then there are only one or two tangles which is pretty impressive given that I haven't cut my hair in ages and there is a lot of ex-summer hair at the back that is coming off next week.
And there are no longer any tears from my six year old daughter at shower time either - the first time I tried the Mukti conditioner on her hair she turned to me with a big smile and said "Mummy - it didn't hurt when you combed it!". And so our arsenal of detangling products have all been joyfully disposed of.
Apologies for the length of this review but I am really won over by Mukti's hair care products and if its conditioner can sort the tangles out of both my hair and my daughter's hair and help to allay my hair loss fears then I'll be using this range for a long time to come.
