Truth Renew PLUS is an EXCLUSIVE, at-home beauty tool that delivers the very best anti-aging treatment. This device uses three modes — LED, ultrasonic and ionic — to help firm and smooth skin. All three can be used at the same time for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, or separately. The device's LCD display panel shows the selection of modes and intensity.

Please Note: Truth Renew Plus was formerly known as the Ultra Renew Plus. The device itself is still the same and has simply been renamed and repackaged.

There are five levels of ultrasonic intensity. As the ultrasonic waves pass from the treatment head to the skin, they cause the vibration of the surrounding tissues, particularly those that contain collagen. Ultrasonic improves skin's elasticity and firmness.

Three lights are built into Truth Renew PLUS:
• Red light - helpful for wrinkles smoothing, rosacea and broken veins
• Blue light - these wavelengths penetrate the skin and produce singlet oxygen, which potentially destroy acne-causing bacteria
• Green light - targets melanocytes, melanin-producing cells located in the bottom layer of the skin's epidermis

There are two ionic (galvanic current) settings: ion+ and ion-
• The ion+ (positive ion) is for deep cleansing and firming.
• The ion- (negative ion) is for treating hyperpigmentation.
• Positive and negative ionic modes cannot be used at the same time, but either one can be used simultaneously with the other modes (ultrasonic and LED).

Searching for the right anti-aging device that's right for you? Let us help!

TIA Review by Marta:
After months of testing and tweaking, Truth Renew PLUS by Truth In Aging offers not one, not two, but three modes: ultrasonic, LED and galvanic (positive and negative ions). What’s more – and this is the really, really cool part – they can all be used at the same time (what more could a busy woman want) as well as separately. This is the anti-aging, lifting and firming tool to put at the top of your wishlist.

I am convinced that the ultrasonic mode is more effective on the Truth Renew PLUS than on the original Ultra Renew and the ability to use two or even all three modes together is efficient and effective – making this device the best thing I know for smoothing lines and lifting sagging skin.

On the Truth Renew PLUS, there are also two ionic settings: ion+ and ion-. Positive and negative settings cannot be used at the same time, but either one can be used with the other modes. So, for example, you could tackle hyperpigmentation with ion- and the green LED light. Or to help or prevent breakouts and open/blocked pores, ion+ could be used in conjunction with blue LED light. A water-based cleanser, serum or gel (such as our Ultra Renew Gel Serum) must be used.

If you have been an ultrasonic and LED fence sitter, then now could be the time to take the plunge.

Quick User Guide:
1. Use on a clean face, without makeup.
2. Connect the machine to the electric adapter and to a power outlet. Press the On/Off button. There will be a beep and the LED display will show functions and time of use (starting at 15 minutes).
3. The Ultrasonic, LED and Ionic modes can be used at the same time. (Note: you cannot use Ion+ and Ion– at the same time.)
4. A water-based, topical gel or serum (such as Ultra Renew Gel Serum) must be used with ultrasonic to ensure conductivity, as well as with the ionic mode. It is recommended that the water-based gel be applied to the thickness of a face mask.
5. Truth Renew PLUS switches off automatically after 15 minutes. You may immediately switch it on again if you wish to continue your session. You can program the time of your session.
6. There are three LED lights: Red = anti-wrinkle, collagen production; Blue = acne treatment; Green = hyper-pigmentation

Ultrasonic frequency: 3 MHz +/- 5%
Ultrasonic Surface: 1" diameter
Red LED: 650nm
Green LED: 530nm
Blue LED: 470nm

Do NOT use Ultra Renew PLUS if you are pregnant or if you have an overactive thyroid.

The Truth Renew PLUS comes equipped with a US power adapter (AC 100-240V). This voltage is compatible worldwide, but international customers will need to purchase a local adapter from their local hardware store to use outside of the US.

1-Year Repair Guarantee:
In the event that your Truth Renew PLUS develops a fault within 12 months of purchase, please contact us.

This is NOT a paid endorsement...With that said, I am a practicing aesthetician and an acupuncturist looking for cutting edge skin care tools for my practice and clients that can deliver. THIS DELIVERS!!!!!! This is a result oriented anti aging tool that is a must have. Compared to expensive high end equipment used in a skin clinics the specs are in line with what we are using in the industry. I'm so glad I made the purchase.

I have been using this device for about one month, and it works wonders on acne! My face has never healed so quickly! Nevertheless, for my age spots and fine lines, I have noticed no difference. I was hoping that after a month of continued use ( I use it for 15 min. per day) I would notice a difference. How long does it typically take to help these two problems?

I've been using the Ultra Renew Plus for about 3-4 months and have seen some improvement in the sun damage along my jaw line. Even my husband thinks it's helping the discoloration. It also seems to reduce my forehead lines but the improvement doesn't last very long. I use it twice a week while watching television. At first I didn't think it was working but towards the end I felt a tiny prickly sensation that isn't unbearable. I use the device until this sensation becomes uncomfortable, usually around 30 minutes. I like do it yourself treatments rather than going to a med-spa so this is perfect.

  • Hi Sandy,
The device should not be used on the eyelids in any mode. We hope you enjoy!

  • I wrote an earlier question about using the Ultra Renew Plus (URP) on my eyelids and you basically said not a good idea. I apologize for not also asking the following questions. Can any of the modes on the URP device be used on the eyelids...such as the LED light alone or the +/- ion mode alone? Thanks again!

Waiting for m my URP and Sculpt combo to arrive. Can't wait to try and give my review of each!

  • Hi Margie,
The Ultra Renew comes equipped with a 1-year warranty. We have contacted you via customer service for further assistance.

    I hope this helps!

I use the Ultra Renew Plus. I love it! I came upon your website when my Derma Wand broke because I really wanted to try something new. I used the wand for a year with 0 results. I found your website very useful and informative because of all the articles, descriptions and reviews. I purchased the product the next day and have been using it for 6 months now. I like that it has different settings. I often use the red light and the ultrasonic pulsation. My skin looks better even though I've aged a bit I am trying to prevent further traces of aging. I currently use a Collagen cream I bought at the pharmacy but I am ready to switch because I don't find there is enough collagen in the product.

  • Hi Sandy, at 3MHz, the ultrasound waves will penetrate the thin eyelid skin. We do not know the consequences of the waves reaching the eye itself and therefore would certainly not recommend the device for use on the eyelid.

  • I sent an email asking the following question but didnt receive a response. I've seen other ultrasonic devices with 3 mhz and the seller says it's safe for droopy eyelids. Why is Ultra Renew Plus not safe for droopy/heavy eyelids? Thank you!

  • I left a comment earlier about my ultra renew that stopped working.
I have has it less than 2 years.
    Do you have a guarantee?
I am thinking of getting the ultra renew Plus

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I LOVE it. Have used it for 2 weeks and can't believe the improvement in my skin texture and firmness. Have told all of my friends about it :)

  • Hi Shalini, all the modes can be used separately.

  • Hi Marta. I am wanting to purchase this product. However, since my skin reacted badly to the LED (baby Quasar) earlier, I am only interested in trying the ultrasonic mode. So, in case I want to use the Ultrasonic alone without using the LED, is that possible with this device or do the settings only allow all three to work together simultaneously?
    Thank you!

  • Hi Leah,

We don't recommend using the device on the eyelids. However, a great alternative to consider is AQ's Eye Serum, which does a great job at smoothing out and lifting crepey lids. I hope this helps!

  • I'm wondering why I can't use the ultrasound on my crepey eyelids? I did try it yesterday and it seemed to make them worse? Is there another good quick solution to getting rid of this aging "eyesore"- the bain of my existence all of a sudden now that I'm almost 47? BTW- I just started dating a wonderful younger man and all of a sudden the crepey eyelids set in... not good timing! I need to do something fast!

I bought this and have been working on the red sonic and ion+ mode it for about 18 days at 2 setting on my entire neck for 15 mins with water and a generic ultrasound gel from ebay. I am also using revision nectifirm as I had heard good reviews from my medical spa i am 50 + but did not take care of my neck skin by using sunscreen and so have a fine horizontal lines and slight jowls for loss of collagen, although I am beige/light brown skinned and i notice it if not others. I see that cream and 3 in 1 mode on the UR plus has definitely tightened up my jawline. giving definition and made my neck smoother and softer, although the lines are there but definitely see a slight difference. I will continue using it for 15 mins everyday my morning routine, as more often and longer will make me tire of it. So we will see how that goes in another 2 weeks. So far I am sort of happy with my purchase as I normally do not believe much in these gadgets that are sold for laymen to use,

  • Hi Marcy,

While many individuals can benefit from using the Ultra Renew Plus with shorter sessions, it's important to understand that results are cumulative, and it does require regular usage. You might still be okay using the device for about 5-8 minutes daily, or roughly 15 minutes 3 times a week. However, if you really feel you can't keep up with the regimen, then unfortunately we wouldn't recommend you use this device.

To answer your other question, neither of the ionic modes require a face wash during use. However, you will need to use a water-based, topical gel or serum. We recommend Ultra Renew Gel Serum. I hope this helps!

  • Hi!

I am interested in purchasing this device, but there is NO WAY I could do it for 15 minutes a day! Would I get any benefits from using it less? I want to use it for my melasma... Any other suggestions?

Also, I am confused with the ion part... For the cleansing, do I use it wet with a face wash?

  • Hi Michele, I would say that the optimal would be both. But if I could only choose one, I would go for the UR Plus because it has more functionality.

  • Hi Marta
For neck firming would microcurrent be a better tool than this? Or not? Or both!

    Hi Judi

So glad you are enjoying Ultra Renew Plus. The device is 110-240V and in the UK it can be used with a local adapter.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Love this device! So much so, would like to purchase one for my mum's birthday. Would this work in the UK with a travel plug? Or do you make one with the 240v? Thanks

  • Hi Sogol,

The Ultra Renew PLUS is not meant for use on the eye lids; however, to address your concern of sagging eye lids, I'd recommend AQ Eye Serum:

    I hope this help!

Hi, been using this for a few months. I really don't know if it is helping. No before pictures. very concerned about drooping eyelids, how best can I use Ulra renew for that area?

  • Hi Good,

The Ultra Renew Gel Serum is suitable for use with both ultrasound and LED, as well as ionic/galvanic treatments. When using LED, it is important to use antioxidants alongside the treatment. As green tea is rich in antioxidants, it should be fine to use with your LED device. I hope this helps!

  • I've been reading that when using a led light system you need to use a led serum for best results? The serum that comes with ultra renew plus I'm assuming is made for led light use?

Also, read about spritzing a concentrate of green tea on face before using led light systems?

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

even though it has been less than a month I do think I am seeing an improvement in both texture and firmness

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Investigating this product is what first brought me to this website. I purchased it, and have pretty much stopped using my Lightstim, Face FX, Facemaster, and NuFace. I use all the options together (positive Ions and Red Light, since you can only pick one each of the lights and ions) on the highest possible settings. This machine gave me more visible results in a week of use, than the others have in all the time I've owned them. Well done!

  • Hi Joo, I would try ultrasound with ionic. But the initial effect you will see will be a little plumping, the tightening will come with cumulative use of the device over weeks/months.

  • Hi. Please help. I have a very strong and big jaw that I want to tighten, so i tried the ultrasound. But my jaw looked more plump afterward, which is the opposite of what i want. Which mode combination should I use for tightening? Thanks !

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Great device and glad I purchased it. I multi-task when I use it (phone, TV, anything that I can do one-handed) and feel that it is time well spent even if I am doing nothing but. Still not sure how long to use it for pimples, so I haven't tried the blue mode yet, but my skin seems firmer and a bit lifted -- age spots are also a bit lighter. Hurray!

  • Hi Lucy, the device is find to be used with fillers or Botox. With the caveat that you should always get the opinion of the doctor who performed your procedures.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have been extremely happy with this product. So happy that I bought one for my daughter as well, indicating that it is quite beneficial for diverse age groups! I am a fan of at home facial devices, and long ago had a red/blue Tanda light. I used that machine fairly faithfully, until it broke - or stopped working for some reason.....and by that time had been reading about the Ultra Renew Plus. I also had been using a Galvanic Spa by NuSkin, and again, did like the results of that product, but I have to say that the combination of uses and ease in use of the ultra renew plus makes me much more inclined to use it and I really like the way it multi-tasks regarding varied lights (without switching heads) and the usage friendliness....additionally, I feel that the pricing is reasonable!

Hi Marta and the TIA community... thanks for providing an excellent honest forum!! I spent weeks online researching various "home-use" facial devices before I decided to buy the Ultra Renew Plus and I'm so happy I made the right choice! I have questions about using the Ultra Renew Plus on/around my cheeks where I have spots (dime-nickel size) of mild-moderate rosacea (e.g, tiny spidery red capillaries but not pustular rosacea = easy to cover with tinted foundation). I already use a variety of skin care products (like ZenMed, and natural/herbal products) to control the rosacea but I'm wondering if the use of the Ultra Renew Plus might also help. I've searched the various TIA forums and haven't found the answer to my questions yet... perhaps you or some of the reviewers/contributors can answer?:

    1) Can the Ultra Renew Plus (URP) be used on mild rosacea to diminish the appearance of capillaries? (Has anyone out there tried/reported this particular use with the URP?)

    2) If it is ok to use the URP on mild rosacea, which settings should I use? which LED light is best? how long should each session be on the target area?

    3) If the answer is not to use the URP on areas of mild rosacea, will the use of the device around/in the vicinity of the area cause the rosacea to worsen?

I love this! How many other product can do so much l at once with fabulous results? First off I'm using this 3 to 5 times a week, all on high with red light. I find once I get to using it, as we can all get bit lazy a out things after while, I always go for a full 30 min.
Anyway, works great and I love it but I really don't care for the gel or aloe vera, and yes I'm re wetting It water, lots of water as I'm using it 30 minutes at a time. Okay, I'll cut to the chase. Can you provide a list of products that are less gooey? If a cream were effective I would definitely be going that route. I have to say after using this for some time now, due to the sticky gooey factor I'm getting to the point I'm not lets just say as enthusiastic as I was. And I believe a change up of product might just bring my enthusiasm back. So if you could be so kind as to publish a list of other products that would be conductive enough, yet less messy. (YBF antiox. oil maybe?) Thank you, as always.

  • Hello Marta!

How does the blue LED setting on the UltraRenew Plus compare with BLU-U treatments? I am hoping to save money by simply using my at-home device. Thank you!

I wanted to leave a review on the ultra renew for a feature I found is really worked for me. I'm now at a 50+ pound weight loss and maintaining. Ingesting Collagen Type 1 & III has helped my skin keep up; but I noticed several months ago, my eyes developed severe dark circles under them. I've tried several serums from amazon, but all I did was spend money. I came back to TIA for advice on what might work and remembered I had the Ultra Renew that I use with the ultrasound once in a while.

Long story short: I began using the ultrasound low setting and the green LED light with distilled water mixed with aloe vera gel under and above my eyes. Two weeks into this routine almost daily for 5 minutes, the almost black circles under my eyes are diminishing rapidly. I had the Renew all along and didn't know it worked for black under-eye circles. I am thrilled to see a painless way to improve my eye appearance and the ultrasound is working on the smile lines around my eyes. I no longer look like a raccoon. I love this machine.

Hi Ricky, as this isn't a medical device, it does not require FDA approval. However, we are in the process submitting it to the FDA and currently in "substantive review" so it will take a few months yet. In the meantime, you could take a look at the Quasar range of LED products, which has been reviewed by the FDA.

  • Hi, I wondered if the Ultra Renew Plus is FDA approved?
Very interested but always concerned about safety.

LOVE this thing -- and I purchased it as a true skeptic. I had been reading article after article about the benefits of ultrasonic waves and LED lights, and finally the cynic in me thought I should find out for myself what the hype was all about. After over a month of consistent use (every 2-3 days at level 3 or 4), I am seeing the teeniest, tiniest lightening of the age spots on my chest and a tightening of the skin at my jaw line, especially right under my chin. On the days when I use the ultrasonic/red LED modes, I feel like my whole face looks lifted, though this doesn't have a lasting effect. I am hopeful that over time the effect will be longer lasting, especially if what I've read about collagen production is true. As for water-based serums, I have tried several (aloe vera gel, a couple of Isomers serums, Vitamin C) and find that I get the best results using thermal water gel or even a simple thermal water mist. Two caveats: I am apparently one of those people who is sensitive to the ionic mode -- it feels fine on my face, but I don't like the sensation on my hand, it almost stings, so I haven't been using that often. Also, you do need to set aside time to use this (I do it while I watch television), so for those who are pressed for time, you might want to be honest with yourself about whether you can fit this into your skin care routine. For me, though, it's time well spent!

    Hi Samantha,
When using the device to help repair wrinkles, your best bets are going to be ultrasound and red LED. Combine these features alongside ion/+ and treat skin 3-5x a week for 15-30 minutes a session. Be sure to keep the device flush against skin, gliding along a water-based gel or serum (when using the device in ultrasound mode).

With regular use, you should be able to see improvements. I hope this helps! Feel free to email me at if you have any further questions.

  • This is not a review.
    I've had this device for a while now...But I
Would love to know how people use it.
My main focus is wrinkle reduction.
I feel like me just chucking it on isn't working.
Those that have seen results what settings are you using?
    Thanks for any help.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

    Hi Lori,
The device should not be used on the upper eyelids.

    Hi Cathy,
Ultrasonic, LED and ionic are subsensory treatments, so you will not feel a vibration when handling the device.

    I hope this helps!

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

Been using this for about 3 months and am noticing some firming around the mouth and jowls (my problem area). Yes! But my upper eyelids are lacking in firmness since I've hit my 50s. Is it possible for this device to firm the skin of the upper eyelids? Your advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • Should I be feeling something' like a vibration or hearing something like a hum when the Ultra Renew Plus is on? I want to be sure it is actually working. Thanks!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Okay so Ive been using this ultra renew Plus for the past week and I'm shocked how it has lifted my eyebrows. I absolutly love this little machine so far and can't wait to see the improvement in my skin when I give it more time than just the week I've been using it. I just had to make a comment that after only one week(I've used it 4 times)I can see a difference already. The only thing is I've been using it with Aloe Vera Gel and its dries rather quickly so I think I will be purchasing the serum that goes with it!! LOVE IT!!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

OMG... i was completely unimpressed with this device until i got one of my cystic acne breakouts. i get big, painful and very long-lasting cysts every month when my hormones go crazy. they are deep red, hot to the touch and honestly last for up to two weeks sometimes! after the cyst subsides, it leaves a dark "scar" that lasts for months. this cycle is the BANE of my existence. sooo...cut to the chase: a huge cyst was developing on my face and i decided to try out my ultra renew plus in the blue light setting. i figured it couldn't hurt and although i hadn't seen other results from this "magic wand", it was worth a shot. i only used the blue light and only for about 15 minutes right before bed. this morning... the cyst is 1/4 of the size, not sore, not hot and i am sure it will be gone in just another day or two. i am sold on the ultra renew plus!!! i have spent thousands of dollars on doctors, shots, creams, burning potions... and nothing has ever worked! i am literally over-the-moon happy about the blue light setting and know that if it worked on my awful acne... it certainly must work on wrinkles and jowls and the rest. i am converted!

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I like the Ultra Renew Plus and I think the blue light has helped my breakouts be reduced in number. But, I tend to have trouble finding the time to use it consistently.

  • Hi Lynn
The device is contraindicated for hyper-thyroid. This is because the condition can make the patient more sensitive to heat. You are hypo-thyroid and so you should be fine. If you feel no discomfort, keep doing what you are doing and to be on the safe side avoid the throat area (as it seems you already are).

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I've been using this device for a few months now and have noticed clarity & smoothness and glow in my facial skin, and some reduced lines in crows feet area, not much to the lines around mouth...maybe I don't stay there long enough...??? but not much happening in the neck region. I have horizontal lines and sagging...what else is new??? I have hypo-thyroid (low) and take a medication for replacement, and my most recent trip to the doc revealed normal blood values, but thyroid is enlarged some...??? So now I won't use it there...and Never used it in the center of my neck, only the sides...but now if this is going to be a problem, only for my face and I may turn it down a notch!

  • Hi Agnes

A small number of people are sensitive to the ionic mode and this is the tingling that you can feel in your hand. You can apply a small amount of water-based gel to your hand to counteract this sensation. Use ionic at the lowest setting and remember that in ionic and ultrasonic modes you must apply a water-based gel before allowing the device plate to touch your skin. Please contact and we can email you directly with more instructions for use.

  • I thought I had posted my review before but did not see it. I got my machine last year but after using it for a couple of weeks, I stopped and posted my question to Marta. The handle seems to leek electric current. Since I did not get any response, I left it laying dormant in my drawer. Lately, I had some problem on my skin and I thought of the Ultra Renew Plus again. Still the same problem with the handle that leeks electric current. However, if the ultrasonic mode is not in use, just the Led lights, then it is fine except if the metal head touches my face, there is a little sharp current goes to the skin. It was not painful though. May be I had the ion mode on? Anyway, should I keep using the machine or is it deffective?

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I just purchased the Ultra Renew Plus about a months ago; Used in 4 times already; I love the results! My faces feels smoother, and firmer.

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

Honestly, despite not having used it to the specifications (enough) I already see signs of improvement from the Ultra Renew PLUS (I'll be writing a full-review after I've spent a month using religiously).

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I truely love my Ultra Renew Plus, yet I wished it had a bigger head on it as the new on does. Its tedious using the small head in the neck area, which also happens to be my biggest issue.

  • Hi Cynthia, I am so pleased that you are already seeing good results and that you have found a schedule that works for you. I always encourage people to experiment and find the number and length of sessions that works for them. Regarding products for firming the skin, here are my Five Best for sagging skin recommendations:

  • 5 stars 4 out of 5

I have used ultra Renew Plus for 6 weeks. Some benefits I notice have been plumping up of my skin, reducing lines and wrinkles, and giving my skin a rosy glow. Also, my skin products seem to enhance the benefits of the ultra Renew Plus. I usually set the machine on all settings and only use the ionic plus for now. I started out using it 3 times a week however didn't realize I could use for 30 minutes each time. So perhaps the benefits were not fully realized. Now using it 5 days a week at 8 minutes a day. I like the size and take it with me when I travel. Marta, Which product do you recommend to help firm up the face skin? I am 70

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have been using Ultra Renew Plus for about a year now, and I definitely notice a difference when I use it faithfully. I haven't tried all of the different modes, but I will try the blue light for skin flare ups. I have been using water to keep my face slippery after applying the Mad Hippie Serum. I mist it on with a small spray bottle. I set my levels as follows: Ultrasonic @5, Ion+ @5, LED @red for 4 minutes on each side of my face 3 times a week. Is this amount of time sufficient and is it ok that I am only using water as my conductor?

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

I have only used the URPUL 3 times.
It had an immediate effect first time round.
Marta said it lifted brows at once...she was right.
I am sure it is necessary to use the machine regularly to get the best results and to keep those results.
Even my husband noticed the lifted effect.
I am extremely happy with my purchase.
BTW I am the wrong side of 72 years of if it works for me.....

    Hi Linda

Dermawand is a radio frequency device and Serious Skincare is microcurrent. So they are different technologies and they have only one mode, whereas the Ultra Renew Plus has three. I am actually testing Dermawand right now and personally find it a little uncomfortable to use (even on the low settings). I shall be reviewing it in full soon.

  • How does this device compare to the Dermawand and Serious Skin Care's
    micro-current device???

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

If you're on the fence about whether to purchase this device, hop off and buy it. I'm astonished at how much better my skin every way. Thank you Marta for developing this site and this product--it's genius :)

All our reviews and testimonials are volunteered by members of our community. Most people, understandably, don't want pictures of themselves posted on the internet. Companies that do print have before and after pictures typically conduct a trial with a limited number of participants (which is fair because if properly independently conducted they are expensive to set up and process) and one can hope that the pictures haven't been airbrushed. As far as jowls are concerned, this is the one area that have had most success with - jowls and marionette lines. I hope this helps.

  • Hi. I am very excited to purchase. I was hoping you might have started accumulating any before or after pictures. I am particularly interested in the jowl area and upper lip lines. I have read a few reviews that mention success with the upper lip lines, but no clear mention of jowl reduction. Thanks so much!

I bought this device mainly for sagging and wrinkles. I am 61 and was starting to feel like age had finally caught up and I was feeling a bit despondent. After using it for a short while I was amazed at the recent compliment from my sister who commented on how well I was looking with hardly any wrinkles. She then asked me if I'd had Botox? I am highly delighted it's now my favourite anti aging weapon!

  • Hi Sandra
A simple gel would be better than a cream as it will give more slip. A water-based aloe vera gel for example.

  • I purchased the Ultra Renew Plus over a month ago (been wanting to try it out and couldn't pass it up when it was on sale) but haven't yet used it (crazy right?). I am looking to try it out (have to read how to use it) but need a recommendation for an easily accessible water based product I can use until I get the Ultra Renew Gel. Something I can purchase at a drug store ir some place like that...Suggestions?

  • Hi Anne, you can safely use the device with silicone fillers. However, we would also advise you to check with the doctor who performed your specific procedure.

I'm thinking of using this, but I have cheek silicone implants, is it ok to use this machine with those implants?

Okay - THIS WORKS! I have been targeting my lip lines with this sucker in both sonic and LED mode at the same time (with an appropriate serum), and I have to say this is the only thing that WORKS. I had been using some highly recommended creams and serums on their own without much result (except for a depleted bank account), but after using the Ultra Renew Plus for several months my lip lines are actually fading away! This will continue to be a regular part of my weekly skin care routine. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

I upgraded to the ultra-renew plus when it became available. (I was pleased to pass my ultra renew over to my son, who now uses it to treat acne.) I like having the extra functions. It enables me to get more bang, not just for my buck, but also for my time. When I use any of these appliances I feel I am helping my 59 year old skin as much as I possibly can. I have seen an improvement in elasticity and clarity that I was not getting solely from the use of cosmetics.

I am enjoying using my renew but I am a little unclean on the ion + setting. Should I wash my face with just ion + or all 3. Anyone have an opinion? I have been doing the 15 min 5 times a week with sonic, ion - and green light. I have not stepped out of that box and I am unsure of how to do it. Thanks

I have both the original Ultra Renew and the Ultra Renew Plus. Love them both, but I really REALLY LOVE the UR Plus because of being able to use all the functions simultaneously! What a time saver it has been and as a result I find that I am using it consistently and more frequently now. The digital display is great also. Very easy to use. (The TIA serum developed for use with this device is wonderful as well. IMO just perfect.)

  • Hi Mary, no you will not actually feel any vibrations. Please read this article for more information:

  • Am I supposed to feel the vibration of the ultrasound waves?

  • Hi Sylvia

Yes, we've had good results on "11" lines with LED and ultrasonic

  • Hello.
I'm thinking on purchasing this device mostly for the two lines (eleven as they say) between my eyebrows. Do you think, this device will work?

  • Hi Kim, I am delighted that it is working out for you (and the family!). You could try green light for under the eyes (do be careful not to shine the device directly in the eyes). The gel/serum should be rinsed off afterwards. It is recommended to have full face sessions three times a week (some people do five times - your skin will tell you what is best for you).

I've been using the Ultra Renew Plus a couple times a week for the past month. I'm quite impressed and have noticed firmer, clearer skin, more even tone, and a great reduction in the perinasal hyperpigmentation which runs in my family (making us look like we always have head colds!) I have noticed immediate results the next morning following treatment, especially when I do very focused treatment such as on the fine lines around my mouth. I think it helps that I also take collagen supplements (Reservage Ultra Collagen Booster) orally, boosting the effectiveness of the Ultra Renew Plus.

It's been great for the occasional breakout as well. We used the combo of sonic, +ion, and blue light on a breakout of spots across my daughter's nose and they were completely gone the next day!

    A couple questions:
What settings can I use for dark under eye areas?

How often can I use the Ultra Renew Plus for full-face treatment?

Should I be washing off the Serum afterwards?

  • Hi Jacqueline, the ionic mode on this device, the Ultra Renew Plus, deep cleanses by helping to release dirt and toxins from below the surface. It uses ionic wavelengths. It is not an exfoliating cleanser for daily use like the Clarisonic. The Clarisonic has a rotating brush that removes surface dirt and dead cells more efficiently than regular washing with hands and/or washcloth. Comparable to the Clarisonic would be the Ultra Clear brush, which you can see here:

  • Hi, I am considering buying the Clarsonic Pro for deep cleansing and I noticed in your review, this device also provides deep cleansing. Would the Ultra Renew take place of the Clarsonic? Thank you!

So I had the original ultra renew and to be hones although I liked it......I had a few problems with it. My first one had a glitch and basically stopped working after a point. Truth in Aging replaced it promptly. I used my second one for about six months or so and again...........I started having problems. It was working however it would sometimes work for five minutes, sometimes ten obviously was having a problem. Once again ........Truth in Agings customer service was incredible. I decided to upgrade to the Ultra Renew Plus and I have to say..........I am glad I did!!!! Not only does it offer the additional fuction of the ionic modes but it has a timer built in so you can see how long you have left or how long you have been doing a certain function. I find this very helpful. My biggest concern is lack of elasticity especially under my chin going down my neck. I have only been using this particular device for a few weeks but I do see a difference. What I love about Truth in Aging is that they DO respond to customers concerns. I had left a review about the original serum that you use with this device and frankly......I wanted to love it but didn't. It was too sticky and dried up too fast. Truth in Aging now has an improved formula that has more slip to it! I love that if something isn't working out ............they want to make it better. Thanks Truth in Aging!!!

    Hi Jenann

That's really helpful. The device is versatile and I don't want to be too prescriptive in the instructions so that people can find what suits them. So it is really helpful when users share their experience. Thanks so much.

Just got both thre Renew Plus & Renew Sculpt. Only been using it a few days 2x a day with Mad Hippie serum so jury is still out.

I think it would be helpful if we all share specifics on settings as well so here is mine.....I happen to be breaking out from the girlie time of month right now and my angry red infected pimples seem to have cleared up overnight by using the following setting: Sonic level 4, Negative ion level 4, Photon level green - set for 19 minutes. I have one pimple remaining that seems cystic that I will know by tomorrow if those settings work on it as well.

I found a really interesting article I wanted to share that talks about Benefits of Negative Ions and studies that have been done.

Hope the info helps someone. Will update comments as time goes on.

First, full disclosure. I have been in the medical cosmetic field for many years. During that time, I have tried almost any and all treatments (including injectables and surgery). So why purchase the Ultra Renew Plus? I wanted a device that I could use on my own time and help with the aging process.
I purchased the Ultra Renew Plus with the Serum and have been using it faithfully since it arrived (Winter 2012). I prefer doing 2 longer versions over the weekend, 30 minutes each. The instructions, packaging and device itself were easy to understand and use. As I started getting low on the serum, I have alternated using Aloe Vera. However, the treatment isn't as comfortable with the aloe and will be reordering more serum soon. I prefer to use the ultrasonic with the positive galvanic and red light. However, if I am having a break out, the blue light does a nice job as well. I have recommended this device to family/friends and think it does a great job tightening the skin. It is a bit harder to tell if the redness is improving, but I do know that it isn't getting any worse. A great investment! Thank you Marta!

I love this product. I'd had a Fraxel treatment and my lower face broke out horribly 2 days later. I emailed Customer Service and they responded right away, instructing me to use the blue LED twice a day for 15 mins. I was blown away by how well it worked. The zits were greatly diminished in just 2 days! With a little makeup I was able to attend an important function and look normal. I'm going to concentrate on firming next and will let you know how it works there, too.

I can't say enough great things about this device--diminishes spots, eliminates upper lip lines, firms skin under eyes! Yes, all those pesky flaws. I'm recommending it to a class I'm teaching locally--for charity--on skin care in the 7th and 8th decades of life. So better get yours before all my students start to order!

PS I have lots of at-home devices (all the various generations) but this is the best!

  • 5 stars 5 out of 5

The vote is in-- I LOVE IT! Noticeable increased toning, firming and glow. The additional benefits, like concurrent and ionic settings-- for which, given the power, aloe vera gel is a must-- are fabulous! What a superb, very reasonably priced at-home device! I will definitely recommend with my upcoming skin care line.

Hi Carmen, the Ultra Renew Gel Serum is supposed to be applied in a thick layer like a mask to ensure the conductivity and comfort of the device. When your session is finished you should rinse it off. After rinsing and drying your face you can use your favorite serum. You could use the Nu Face too - it doesn't matter which order. Personally, I don't have the time or the patience to do two devices back to back, but alternate my Myotone and UR Plus on different days.

    Hi Martha

Sorry for the double post. I post my comment in an older article by mistake.

I just purchased the ultra renewal plus device and I am excited for its arrival. While I am waiting, can you please answer a few questions for me?

Can I use a serum underneath the renewal serum for extra firming and brightening? if so, what would you recommend.
I also have the nuface, can I use that after the using the ultra renewal or would that too much? If I can use it, what would be the protocol?

    Thank you!!

Hi Camille, we always recommend that you start at the lowest setting and increase to your comfort level. Some people are sensitive to ion, others not at all. I personally am sensitive and prefer it at the lower levels - it is still effective.

Hi! What level of the ion+ and ion- would you recommend to start with? I have only used the ultrasound so far and did notice some tightening and lifting.I mostly bought it for the lines around my eyes. Do you have a recommendation for what setting I should use to get the best results. All the options are wonderful but a little overwhelming when your new to this type of a device. Thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't tried the DPL. I guess I should. For something comparable - a full-face panel LED - I would suggest taking a look at the Facial Secret, which has red and amber light
