Your Best Face Boost

Your Best Face Boost (day cream)

Size: 1.0 oz (30 ml)

Your Best Face Boost is a lightweight daily moisturizer that's specially formulated to clarify the complexion, tone skin, reduce redness, prevent excess oiliness and discourage blemishes. Unlike some moisturizers that never seem to fully absorb into the skin, Boost dries to a natural finish that makes it perfect as a base for makeup, or to be worn alone for a polished natural look. It never clogs pores and will easily wash off at the end of the day, leaving your skin clean and clear of breakout-causing debris. Boost is beloved by the Truth In Aging community, so don’t hesitate in trying it! We know you’ll love it as much as we do.

Actives in Boost include spin trap and lipochroman-6 to combat free radical damage, as well as niacin and vitamin B5 to encourage clear, healthy-looking skin. With Boost, your skin is moisturized and is infused with a healthy dose of anti-agers, antioxidants, botanicals and vitamins. This day cream can be used alone or mixed with other skin care products for an extra dose of antioxidants.

Please note Your Best Face products are final sale and not eligible for return.

TIA Review by Marta:
I can heartily recommend Your Best Face Boost for 30-somethings, looking for age prevention skincare, 40-somethings that need some tightening and brightening and those 50 and over who want a multitasking day cream that can be used alone or with a favorite anti-aging serum. I liked using Boost from the get-go and over time I've found it to be virtually indispensable as a day cream. This joins YBF's Correct eye cream as one of my all time favorites.

Given the quality of the cutting edge ingredients, Boost is very good value. There is, of course, YBF's signature spin trap, a busy molecule that scurries around finding free radicals that are spinning out control and then stops them before they can do damage. There is also Lipochroman-6, another favorite of YBF's formulater that is a potent free radical scavenger. Green algae and green tea are antioxidant and there is vitamin B.

You don't need to have problem skin to enjoy Boost, but note that the formula allows your skin to breathe and draws moisture from the air throughout the day, helping skin stay hydrated and toned while discouraging blemishes and excessive oiliness. Anyone with dry or irritated skin, decreased elasticity or tendency for oiliness and breakouts benefits from Boost. I have found that it works well on its own or layered on top of other products, playing nicely with brighteners or serums.

Our Take

Reviewed by Beata I have been trying Your Best Face Boost ($65 in the shop) for the past few weeks and I am not at all surprised to report that I LOVE IT. That was expected I guess, but then you never know. After all, I ended up not liking the Nutralift conditioner that I had huge expectations... read more

Darrell Owens, Co-Founder and Chief Formulator, Your Best Face introduced me to this great YBF product. Because I had a LOT of products in my regimen at the time (I've since pared WAY down), I wasn't sure WHERE it might fit into my A.M. and/or P.M. regimens. As I decreased the number of products I use AND figured out (for me--with Marta's ABLE ASSISTANCE!) how and in what order I might get the most out of each item AND in what order to apply, I incorporated Boost in two different ways. In reviewing the ingredients, I realized that it is MORE than just a moisturizer; it has "treatment" value for me in our HIGHLY POLLUTED AND HUMID climate here in Houston. After cleansing in the morning, I apply my "treatments" in the order of the problems I am trying to address. For me, my forehead expression lines and lower lip deep crevices are my highest priority. So, at Marta's suggestion, I use ClarityRX Get Fit and have JUST STARTED TRYING Ao's"rewind retinal". Next, if we are experiencing a bad "UV/pollution day" (both are part of our daily news), I add Boost next.

I LOVE how little product it takes for great coverage. Less than a pea-sized amount covers my forehead, down around my 'crows-feet' areas and the lateral sides of my orbital areas. Another 'dose' gets both cheeks and one last 'pea' covers my nose/nasolabial areas and chin down to my neck. The cream feels a bit thicker (hence the need for so little product). It spreads incredibly easily over any other product(s), has no discernible scent and no pilling. I feel my face tightened in a good way (NOT DRY!) after application; long after I abandoned facial primer use, Boost has given me back that "smoothed/brightened" quality of the same.

My other application for Boost is one that I read in an article by Darrell Owens on the TIA website. I am a HUGE fan of YBF's (re-formulated) Prep! Darrell mentioned that he loved Boost as an "after Prep use" product. I could not agree more! Since I tend to use Prep as a masque (I mix it in a DIY combo w/ products containing Matrixyl 3000, hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid and more--to make sure that Prep, left on much longer than recommended....does not dry out my face and in fact NOT ONLY 'does it's job' in leaving my face 'baby' smooth with all of my dead cell debris removed, but ALSO plumped and moisturized after removal). Applying Boost after wiping away my 'masque' gives my skin an amazing jump start after my twice-weekly P.M. Prep use!

    A definite keeper!

This is my absolute FAVORITE product ever, not just from YBF, but in general. I can't live without it, but I currently am since it's out of stock. :( You can't truly appreciate what a product does for your skin on a daily basis until you run out of it.
This wears amazingly well under make up, in fact, it makes my make up look so much better. It smells delicious. The texture is perfect. It melts into the skin and doesn't leave a greasy residue. My face definitely feels firmer after applying. It gives me just enough moisture and does a decent job of minimizing oily areas on my face. Nothing is a 100% on that point.
I'm not a fan of BB creams or primers, but Boost does for me what I imagine those other products do for others. I will be sad until it's back in stock.

I read the article that white tea can prevent dark spots from forming and this product has the most in it. Also, it has Renovage which stabilizes your telomeres. It does moisturize and mixes well with my sunscreen if I want to mix it or apply after my other treatments to have extra moisture. It seems to work. I have not developed any more dark spots this summer and it moisturizes nicely.

Received a small (two use) sample of this in a great little YBF try-me bonus gift from TIA. I'm not particularly prone to oiliness or blemishes, so I wasn't sure how much I'd like this, but I was really pleasantly surprised.

The texture is just silky and divine and it smells like almonds. I would call my skin combo-dry and still felt like it gave me enough moisture alone (I typically use a facial oil as my moisturizer).

I would consider repurchasing during the summer months when my typical oil might feel a little heavy or my pores in need of a little more tightening.

Can't say enough about this moisturizer. The scent of sweet almonds when you apply it. Its crazy slip, so it spreads easily. The way it keeps your face matte, fresh, clear, toned, and hydrated for the day. This stuff is effortless, and just perfect.

what I like about this brand is the simplicity of it's INCI lists, quite a relief for sore eyes.

based upon the one sachet I received (in the autumn bb) I cannot say if this works, Ofcourse.

it felt okay, smelt weird but nothing too bad.

I was born with severely dry skin. A few months ago, my skin started scaling and shedding more intensely than ever before. I tried gently scrubbing twice a week, leaving the humidifier on all the time, as well as slathering layer upon unctuous layer of creams.

When I was dared to try Your Best Face Boost, I hesitated. Yes, it’s by Your Best Face, a beloved brand (and for good reason) but “lightweight daily moisture” in the depths of winter? The texture is somewhere between a gel and a mousse... nothing like the occlusive balms that I’ve been indoctrinated to use since I was a child. I was pretty skeptical. There I was, three months into “dandruff face,” having gone through my winter stash (some of which sat on the surface while things remained tight and raw beneath, others had to be re-applied frequently, while most had me looking shiny and congested) and still struggling. It was not a bad time to introduce a challenger.

In the beginning, I had to apply Boost two layers in succession: after cleansing while my skin was still damp, then again after the first layer had set a little. It absorbed quickly and set to a smooth, matte finish – so matte, in fact, that I had to keep checking to make sure I wasn’t drying out. At first, I needed a lot to calm the flakes and ease the tightness, but the effects lasted 12 hours without reapplication. Using it night and day, I went through a lot of product that first week.

The shedding slowed down steadily. By week three, my skin no longer prickled from super-dry overheated office air. By week four, the flakes were so minimal that I was able to use sunscreen again (nothing like zinc oxide to highlight those flakes). In the last week, I tried combining it with other products. Hydration being my nagging concern, I layered it with a mix of hyaluronic acid and diluted honey. Boost remained unflappably matte. Every day I awoke to a soothed, hydrated and rejuvenated complexion that I could see and feel. Using a lightweight moisturizer! In winter! My skin actually looks better now than last summer: tighter pores, no shine, more even tone. I would pronounce this the very best anti-ager AND moisturizer under $66.

I have a sample of this from my YBF gift pack. Ever since I started using this my skin has behaved better. I suffer from little bumps of pimples as part of PMS that leave dark marks behind, and they take a while to fade completely. When I started using Boost my skin has become clearer, blemishes have dried up faster and my skin has become hydrated without the greasy feel. Not to mention that the redness have also disappeared. I'd definitely buy a full size of this one!

I used Boost as a moisturizer on top of everything, and love its light texture, though sometimes I think I could use a bit more richness.

COMMENT ON SOLVING YBF PUMP CONTAINER FRUSTRATIONS: I use and love MANY of Your Best Face products. Many of YBF's original AND re-formulated gels, creams, and other types of formulations that are in their signature "pump containers" HAVE, in my experience two annoying and intermittent dispersal issues.

MY SOLUTION--which gives me greater than a 99% relief from the "too much product pumped out" AND the "I cannot get ANYTHING to disperse from the pump mechanism" issues: In my collection of all skin care containers, I keep/store ALL of my YBF"pump" containers UPSIDE DOWN. I'm still able to read the labels as easily as if they are right-side up AND I'm able to control how much product the pump delivers simply by the amount of pressure I exert on the pump. About 1-2 times/month, I have a quick "it won't pump" issue. I just keep the product upside down in storage position--denoted by the small hole in the bottom of YBF's pump containers. I just give the container a slight "thwack" (a word that seems to describe exactly what it sounds like despite its unavailability in Oxford's dictionary!). Almost without fail, that one "thwack" (a soft sort of punch w/ my palm), re-starts the pumping process! CONCLUSION FOR ME: I store all of my YBF 'goodies' packaged in their signature non-glass pump-containers---UPSIDE DOWN. NO MORE "NO-PUMP" and/or "TOO MUCH/TOO LITTLE" product problems!

Quick question - between this and YBF Balance which one is better if I had to pick one?

Does layering both makes sense or is that overkill? If yes which one goes below?

Also am assuming a moisturiser is not required after this?

New reader here and planning to put in an order soon.

Am 36 Indian male, super oily acne prone skin with large pores and dark spots...thanks in advance for the guidance
