I was recently asked to review the Arcona Peptide Eye Serum ($52) and was quite excited to do so. One of the reasons for my excitement was that it is formulated to help reduce puffiness, something that I am constantly struggling with. Plus, I had heard so many wonderful things about the Arcona line on TIA. I generally use AQ Eye Serum ($99 in the shop), so Arcona Peptide Eye Serum had a tough act to follow. After four weeks this is what I have to say about Arcona’s eye serum:
First of all, the packaging seemed nice but there seemed to be a lot of air inside the bottle, so it was difficult to get the product out at times. At one point I thought that it was empty, but when I slipped it out of the silver case it was almost full. After my month-long trial, there was enough product left to last another month. So I found it to be well worth $52.
Ingredients are important to me (they’re the first thing I look at before using a product), so I was glad to see that the eye serum is loaded with beneficial skin ingredients. There are simple ones such as soybean, witch hazel, caffeine, and chrysin, which are all known to help reduce inflammation. I imagine these ingredients are the ones that reduce puffiness and dark circles too. I do not have dark circles, but puffiness can be pretty prominent if I am not using good quality products. Matrixyl 3000 is also on the list; it consists of two peptides that work together to regenerate the skin and is a bonus to repair the fine lines and wrinkles while reducing the bags under my eyes. Aloe is also one of my favorites for repairing the skin.
Now the question is, does it work and would I give it a thumbs up or down... I definitely would say that it is a wonderful product. I did not see a big reduction in the puffiness because I have been using the AQ Eye Serum and that problem has been pretty much under control. What I can tell you is that my bags have stayed packed (meaning they haven’t returned) and that is awesome – and the price is fantastic! I would recommend this eye serum to anyone who suffers from under-eye puffiness. And there are no nasties here. I don’t know if I am ready to give up my AQ, but I will definitely keep the Arcona Peptide Eye Serum around.
