TIA Review by Kim:
I am going to start off this review by saying that I normally don’t like powder foundation. I find that it makes my skin look, well, powdery. To me, that means dry, dull, and made-up in a way that reminds me of how my grandma looked in her makeup. So maybe I’m not the best person to test out La Vie Celeste’s new Loose Mineral Foundation. Or perhaps I am the exact right person because if you can win me over you know you’ve got something special.

The color that TIA sent me is called Vintage Beige. I was skeptical at first because it’s usually hard to find the right color for my pale skin. I find that most foundations tend to be too yellowy for me. Seriously, what are the chances that a random sample would actually work out? Well, it turns out the color match was absolutely perfect. Now, because I never use mineral foundation, I didn’t have the correct brush. I ended up digging out an old (and terrible) blush brush from deep in my makeup draw. Even with a crappy old brush the powder went on beautifully, and to my surprise my skin looked amazing. I always felt that while foundation may cover my imperfections, it also covered up any natural glow or dewiness to my skin. However, with La Vie Celeste my skin still looked glowy and natural. And the coverage was fantastic. Even with such great coverage it still somehow felt sheer and light. La Vie Celeste was converting me!

But the real test came when I brought the powder with me to Miami to visit my mom. Would it work on her more mature 60-something skin? My mom uses Bare Minerals. I am not a fan of that product line mostly because it’s touted as all natural, but its ingredients list proves to be anything but. My mom loves that I always bring the latest and greatest in beauty care, so she was definitely game to try out a new mineral powder. She decided that she would do half her face in La Vie Celeste and the other half in Bare Minerals, and then I – without knowing which was which – would pick the better side. Well, it was seriously no contest. One side of her face looked smooth, velvety and, dare I say, almost airbrushed. The other side had a slight iridescent quality that actually seemed to highlight her pores and lines. My mom totally agreed. And take a wild guess which side was which. La Vie Celeste was the winner by a landslide. My mom was super excited. She even felt that La Vie Celeste was a much better color match for her skin, and the powder didn’t settle into her fine lines and pores. But Bare Minerals makes a great targeted cover-up, she said. Could La Vie Celeste do the same? She tried it on a red splotch and a few age spots, and they disappeared. It was undeniable – this was her new favorite mineral powder. She liked it so much, I couldn’t help but leave it for her to enjoy.

It’s also nice to know that La Vie Celeste’s mineral powder is formulated without bismuth oxychloride, talc, nanoparticles, FD & C dyes, lakes, carmine, synthetics and petroleum by-products. And it has the powerful antioxidant green tea – a nice added benefit. This is a gorgeous mineral powder foundation that is an amazing addition to the already loved La Vie Celeste line.

I received a full size of this product as a free gift with a purchase from the LVC website and even though it isn't the correct shade (this was after the decision had been made to discontinue the product and they had run out of the palest shade) it's still my favorite foundation product in my arsenal. I was a long time user of Bare Minerals when my skin was oilier and I had issues with acne. I liked it but I didn't love it. I wasn't sure I'd like a mineral powder foundation with my skin now being on the dryer side but this product is wonderful, so light and airy it feels like wearing nothing. It blends in so well and makes me skin look so airbrushed that the slight difference in shade is much less noticeable than it would be in a traditional liquid foundation product. If you can find one of the remaining pots in a shade near your skin tone definitely snap it up! Luckily a tiny bit goes a long way so it will last for a while before you have to deal with finding a replacement since they have discontinued it :(

I am so sorry that I only just found La Vie Celeste Powder Foundation and that it's being discontinued. This is the best powder foundation that I have come across, and I have tried a fair share. I love that it maintains a light and breathable feeling while providing color correcting coverage. It works equally well as a foundation and concealer, in my opinion. The finish it provides is natural but "perfected", and it never looks powdery. I will be purchasing what I can while it's still available.

I love this powder foundation. The first one which based on the color suggestion was to light. I had to go one shade deeper (which is described as Jo Lo color, and I am more Carmeron Diaz) and it is perfect. I use it over Amarte BB cream (another love) and I have had more compliments since I went to this combo.

I have a tough time trying to find makeup that doesn't look like makeup, and this powder is the best I've found. I've got pale skin that has no tint of yellow, making nearly all makeup look yellow on me, but not this - the lightest shade is perfect for extremely light skin. I love the fact that I can use a tiny bit to even out my complexion and give me a 'finished' look, or perhaps a bit more for a night out, and never does it look like makeup. What a find!
