Deciem Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex is a concentrated yet non-greasy hand cream that battles multiple signs of aging at once. With way more active ingredients than your average hand cream, Hand Chemistry visibly improves the firmness, density, tone, texture and suppleness of your hands and forearms. Marta was impressed by how many anti-aging actives are packed into this restorative hand cream, so can try it yourself trusting that it's a great product.

With an extraordinary 19.5% active complex, Hand Chemistry's formula includes a biotechnological derivative of the mushroom, Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp, that holds moisture all day long for long-lasting hydration. In addition, sacha inchi oil and maize propanediol protect skin from the elements and retain even more moisture as plant extracts and amino acids work to repair sun spots and fine lines.

Tested for 30 days and recommended by Marta:
Behind Hand Chemistry is a Canadian outfit called Deciem that likes to pitch itself as “the abnormal beauty company.” Abnormal indeed. At least for it’s almost manic focus on actives (see my review of sister brand NIOD’s eye serum); and how many other lines do you know that focus on hands!

I’ve been testing Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex and it is hands on way, way better than your average drugstore hand cream, nailing it with a combination of amino acids and some well chosen extracts. A medium weight cream, it is rich enough to make hands feel pampered, but leaves no greasy residue.

Hand Chemistry claims that just under 20% of the formula is made up of active ingredients — worth boasting about when you’d be very lucky to get 10% in many drugstore formulas. I found this to be a good workday hand lotion that kept my hands feeling hydrated and supple.

On of the key ingredients is neodermyl, a combination of copper lysinate/prolinate and methylglucose phosphate that is supposed to boost collagen l and collagen ll. Although this is not a big copper peptide gun, it is respectable with two amino acids. In addition, the formula has three other amino acids, proline, alanine and serine.

The main plant extract (plukenetia volubilis) has fatty acids that are precursers to wound healing and antixodant potency equivalent to vitamin C (source). There are several natural ingredients that assist with water retention: pseudoalteromonas ferment and tremella.

There are a few potential irritants to be aware of: propanediol, alcohol, sodium hydroxide and fragrance. However, I had no adverse effects during my month-long test.

I really like this hand cream. It is intensely hydrating while absorbing very quickly. I actually like the fragrance very much. The cream claims to improve "firmness, elasticity, density, evenness, brightness, texture, smoothness and hydration." I haven't seen any improvement in firmness, elasticity or density, but it definitely hits all other claims. And to be honest, I have not followed the directions consistently to apply morning and evening. If I would be more faithful in application, I might see improvement in all areas in the 11 day promise!

This is a pleasantly-scented cream that moisturizes well. I already had a go-to hand/body lotion that I was happy with and the Deciem product is definitely its equal. That said, I didn't feel like it did anything that my other product was already doing. Maybe I'm just not the right customer for this product, since other than fat loss, my hands don't look old. At $20 for a nice-sized tube of product, I consider this lotion a good value. I'll probably keep buying it from time to time and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet found a favorite hand cream that will provide great hydration without a greasy or sticky residue.

I'm with Julie, there's nothing really wrong with this hand cream, does a decent job. Absorbs well, not greasy, no offensive scent. Just does not produce the results on my aging hands as promised on the packaging.

I've been using this hand cream off and on for about a month and am really enjoying it. I wash my hands many times a day which leaves my skin and cuticles severely dry and dehydrated. My cuticles are ragged. My hands are beginning to look old :-(. But this cream does a very good job of hydrating and giving some lustre back to my skin (much better than any other hand cream I've tried). However, I didn't get the same results promised in the packaging which shows the supposed effects after 11 days of use. Still, I will reorder this product when I run out! It absorbs quickly, does not have a strong fragrance, and lasts until I wash my hands again.
