Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Medi–Spa Pee

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Medi–Spa Peel

Includes 16 Applications of steps 1 & 2 including 16 pads and firming peptide milk

Straight from Dr. Dennis Gross’ NYC practice, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Medi–Spa Peel is a weekly peel packed with 15 rejuvenating acids designed to smooth lines and wrinkles, refine skin texture and tone and shrink pores. An at-home treatment that dramatically improves the overall look of your complexion, this treatment encourages your skin to restore itself from the first application. Dr. Dennis Gross' patented 2-step formula delivers spa-worthy results in the comfort of your own home, and it's incredibly simple to use for peel veterans or novices. This product has been tested and approved by a member of our community, so you can be sure that it'll significantly improve your skin.

This simple yet powerful 2-step system helps your skin renew itself for a fresh and refined complexion. Plant-based rehmannia glutinosa root extract acts as an antioxidant to battle free radicals, while lactic acid exfoliates and hydrates. Step 1 is packed with effective yet gentle exfoliating acids, and step 2 controls the alpha hydroxy acid activity as it delivers anti-aging actives and antioxidants all in the form of a luxurious milk. This pel contains a combination of 15 acids for accelerated results and is cruelty free and paraben free.

Tested for over 30 days and reviewed by Marta:
“Right off the menu from Dr. Dennis Gross’ NYC practice” is Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel, a weekly at-home peel with 15 different acids and a serum. Having had an office peel at Dr. Gross’s office a few months ago, I am impressed by how much Medi-Spa manages to replicate the experience – and the effects. Daily use of the Alpha Beta Peel along with this weekly treatment seems to be responsible for my best complexion ever.

Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel is a two-step process that starts with the swipe of a pad saturated with 15 acids and some antioxidants. The pads come in a round tub and, unlike the packette-wraped daily wipes, are thick and a little rough textured. There is a definite tingle when I use it, particularly on my cheeks. However, the subsequent rosy flush subsides very quickly and I would say that, despite my sensitive skin, the product is not irritating.

The acids are mostly the common alpha hydroxies, such as glycolic, lactic, citric and malic, with a couple of less usual ones that I’ll give a shout out to.

While there are plenty of other things to like (clove, papaya, grape and green tea), eyebrows may be raised by the dominance of alcohol in the formula. Actually, on the subject of SD Alcohol 40-B, Futurederm has a good article and explains its benefits in skincare formulas in that it shrinks the volume of the solution and makes the actives more concentrated.

After about three minutes, the Firming Peptide Milk should be applied. This is a light lotion that I assumed was simply a neutralizing agent for the step 1 peel. However, it is way much more than that and with its peptide, vitamin C, amino acids and antioxidants, negates the need for another serum on my Medi-Spa days. As well as collagen builders, there are ingredients that hydrate (phospholipids, sodium hyaluronate) and soothe (arnica), both of which are important after a peel.

This is not formulated for purists and there are a few unwanted ingredients such as the irritant octyldodecanol in the serum and potassium hydroxide. And, of course, there are the usual suspects in the preservative department. But the good far, far outweighs the bad and, in any case, with the daily and weekly peel regimen from DDG, my skin (smoother, glowing, plumper) has never looked better in my opinion.

This is an amazing product. I've been using this once a week for a month and I really like it. I already liked Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel and was curious how different the result of Medi-Spa Peel would be on my skin. Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel gives me a tingling sensation upon application and Medi-Spa Peel gave me a bit more stronger tingling sensation than that but the tingling sensation went away quickly enough. I personally like tingling sensation so I do not mind it at all, it also did not make my skin red or irritated. (I should note that my skin is not sensitive) The pad is thick and had enough product for me to apply around my neck and decollete area.
After waiting few minutes, I applied Step 2, firming peptide milk. The firming peptide milk has a consistency more like a liquidy lotion, or viscous milk, and it spread very easily. I only used a pump or so to cover my face, and neck area.
And wow! Like Marta, I was so happy with the outcome! It gave me a result from first time use! My face looked more evened, toned, smooth and even had a glow! I thought Alpha Beta Peel was good but Medi Spa peel took it to next level. This product now became part of my weekly must routine that I look forward using.
I absolutely love Dr. Dennis Gross line and I recommend this product.

I've been using Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel since the beginning of July--now about five applications. I happened to time it's once weekly use on Sunday with DDG original alpha-beta peel 2-step pad product for six days (my skin is "tough" enough and without any rosacea, sensitivity, or other redness to use this product daily). Marta has suggested that it is not necessary to always use the alpha-beta peel every day, but for me, I've found that my skin drinks in it's medicinal effects and is only ENHANCED on the 7th day with the Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel.

The Medi-Spa Peel is NOT really a peel, per se. When applied to a cleansed 'bare' face (I also apply the Medi-Spa and the original alpha-beta daily peel on both of my hands and forearms--just past my wrists) it is like a wonderful tingling facial. The pads are quite thick, easy to work with, have very little scent, and have plenty of product to cover my face, neck, décolleté, and hands/forearms--just above my wrists. The second step, The Firming Peptide Milk is a thin lotion which goes on like silk, has little to no scent and feels wonderful on my skin. I wait the full five minutes recommended between steps as I like getting maximal results from the products.

I am at a point where I've tried an amazing number of products from TIA--as my AMEX bills will attest!! However, as I am using up certain great products, I am not replacing an effort to pare down my daily skincare routine AND to allow each remaining product to work maximally. I've learned that piling on too many products just brings me decreasing returns in terms of increased skin health!!

HOWEVER, this is ONE PRODUCT (along with the DDG daily alpha-beta peel) that I WILL replace and continue to use!! I've found that these products only make the remaining ones I use work even better to promote new skin growth, plump up my skin, decrease wrinkles & hyper-pigmentation and increase my skin's brightness.

Once a week, apply the presoaked pad to clean, dry skin, using circular motions. Continue application until pad feels dry. Wait three to five minutes. Massage Firming Peptide Milk onto face in an upward motion. Do not rinse after either step. Avoid contact with eyes. Make sure to use sunscreen daily to help prevent photo-aging. Can be used in conjunction with Alpha Beta® Peel (recommended use: Alpha Beta® Peel every day and on the 7th day, switch to Medi-Spa).
