Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic & Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel

When I was offered the chance to try Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic & Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel ($88 in the shop), I was very excited. I’ve used two of the brand’s other products in the past and was pleased with the results. I had recently begun to see a change (not for the better!) in my skin as some lines and a wrinkle were starting to pop up.  I’ve always taken very good care of my skin, but I’m in my 50s now and hyper-aware of my looks, especially since I am in ...Read More...

Pure Glam Peppermint Grapefruit Hand & Foot Repair

This summer was the summer I fell in love with grapefruit: grapefruit beer, grapefruit fragrance and grapefruit body wash. My newfound love for grapefruit started the day I received the sample of Pure Glam Peppermint Grapefruit Hand & Foot Repair ($28). What a lovely product! So fresh, so fragrant, so invigorating and so effective.

While it is called Hand & Foot Repair, it can actually be used all over the body. For the warm summer months, I found it a tad heavy to use on my body (it is super  nourishing and therapeutic). I look forward to u ...Read More...

    Cornelia Age Interruption Crème

With a name like Age Interruption, who WOULDN’T love this product? If I had an anti-aging skin care line, that’s exactly what I would name it! In this never-ending New York City winter, I was anxious to try Cornelia Age Interruption Crème ($59). This year, I felt my sensitive and dry skin becoming even more parched, no matter what I was applying to my face. For most of the year, I apply facial moisturizer in the form of a lotion, but come winter, I have to step up my game to a cream, especially having had a milestone birthday. Yup, I am now in the fi ...Read More...

A shampoo and conditioner that actually brightens? Why, I've never heard of such a thing!

An organic shampoo and conditioner? Why, I've never tried such a thing!

When someone tries a shampoo and conditioner for the first time, they are looking for pleasant-smelling, clarifying, moisturizing or color-safe properties that will make their hair feel healthy and shiny. I hit the jackpot when I used Juice Beauty Organics Brightening Shampoo & Conditioner ($10 each)! It met my expectations and then some. What makes these products unique is that they are made wi ...Read More...

    SimySkin Gel Cleanser

I was anxious to try SimySkin Gel Cleanser ($45), as I had just finished my “summer” cleanser, and I was ready for something more hydrating given the impending chilly weather. Looking at the box, I was thrilled that it was for sensitive skin, as I have that in spades! It was an extra bonus that it was an anti-aging formula; what woman over the age of 30 wouldn’t be excited? For reference, I'm in my late-40s.

The bottle is lovely — very modern and ae ...Read More...
