Skin Concerns: Signs of aging

I love being outdoors but don't like fussing with my skin a lot. Truth In Aging has been a real skin saver.
Happily single and 65, I have my own graphic design business and occasionally consider retirement, but I'm having too much fun to sit still. I love long road trips and car dates, comfortable shoes and *not* looking my age.

    Alexami Exotic8 Facial Oil

I'm 67 years old and my skin is pretty normal — neither dry nor oily. The dreaded dullness and sagging are a constant focus, so "regenerate" is a promising word and Alexami Exotic8 Facial Oil ($54.95) got my attention. Said to be Australia’s first organic Chia facial oil blend, it is part four of a four part skin care program — cleanse, tone, hydrate, and regenerate — by Alexami. I only tried the facial oil, not the other products, so I would like to note that upfront.

    ZSS Radiant Skin System

A firm believer in nutrition's important role in skin (and general overall) health and always on the lookout for products that support healthy skin, inside and out, I was delighted to try the new ZSS Radiant Skin System ($129/30-day supply). I'm a healthy 67, with average/normal skin that looks younger than that, thanks to TIA. I do have issues with saggy, dull skin though, especially after a long winter like this one has been.

ZSS Radiant Skin is a nutrition-focused 2-part (vitamin supplement and topical antioxidant serum) skin detox system featuring zeaxanthin, a stron ...Read More...

BioRepublic Lost Baggage Under Eye Emergency Repair Mask

Having had baggy under eyes most of my adult life, I was delighted to try BioRepublic Lost Baggage Under Eye Emergency Repair Mask ($44.99/10 masks). I had two sample packs to try, so this review is based on two uses, not 10, as the product is sold.

The ingredients list had some familiar heavy hitters like hyaluronic acid and hydrolyzed elastin, and a new one to me, algin — a gelatinous solution obtained as a by-product in the extraction of iodine from seaweed, gelatinous when moist but hardens on drying. Unfortunately chlorphenesin was also ...Read More...

Dawn Lorraine Green Tea Nutrient Scrub

Always on the lookout for effective, organic products for my skin, I was excited to try the Dawn Lorraine Green Tea Nutrient Scrub ($44). I'm 66 with pretty normal skin, neither dry or oily and generally healthy. (Thanks to TIA, my skin looks better than it did 10 years ago.) Dawn Lorraine describes her line as "conscious skin care" with focus on the effects of their products on both our skin and the planet (ingredients produced with wind power, products in glass containers and shipped with re ...Read More...

    LIFTLAB Purify + Clarify Cleanser

I'm not a fan of most cleansers because they feel heavy and my skin feels like I need to wash it after using them. After doing some research on the science behind LIFTLAB Purify + Clarify ($65 in the shop) and its CPPs (cell protection proteins), I was anxious to give it a try.
